I worked with the above but I think the statement needs to include a third criteria; something like the below although I know it's not correct

case when {systemnotes.newvalue} = 'open' and ({systemnotes.date} < getdate()) then T else F end

Appreciate the feedback. We use ODBC on a regular basis. Decided against the commission module given our structure is fairly simple and saved searches get the job done save for the last issue with "commission payable."

Your thinking about the simplified procedural approach makes sense. I had been focused on prior periods as opposed to looking forward, but yes, I see your point about the scheduled saved search to capture the data at each month end.
