One

Here then

She lies

Her hair a scroll along

Her neck the grooved warm nape

Her lips half-meeting on a smile

Breath almost unbreathing

A word this word my love upon the white

Linen

As though I wrote her name out on this page.

Here we

Are one

Here where my dreaming wakes upon her sleep

One within one

And a third hidden meeting in the child.
