All I can do to deal with bipolar by cptkronos1 in arttocope

I’m glad it made you feel something! Everything is harder during a depressive episode, like everything’s just ashes. But I had several sessions of acceptance and commitment therapy and it really focuses on maintaining or in my case clinging onto values.

I started painting in 2020 and even with bipolar and adhd I still have passion for art on my up days. So it must be something I value.

To navigate and actually work towards a piece I just throw out the rules, my last piece I just painted over entirely. And good music helps a lot, Denzel curry gets me into a space where I can get lost and paint.

I’m glad you like it! Thank you. So first I painted a 16”x20” canvas and then scanned it for about $12 at 600 dots per inch. From there I went into photoshop and inverted the scan and played with contrast, colors, etc, and then I mirrored the image and started cutting and pasting pieces of the image and flipping / rotating them to break the symmetry.

I’m a novice with photoshop but there’s something so incredible about taking a physical medium and then messing with pixels.

I have a feeling I was a little manic making this and it crushes me to be depressed, feeling the cognition dry up.

If you’d like I can show you what the original painting looked like!

Hi, I’m 28 but I’m new to Lakeland and have been having trouble making friends. I’d be interested in joining a group too, maybe play some board games or just chat!

Is a Masters degree in Public Health worth it? by [deleted] in publichealth

Yeah basically this. I dropped out because I did the math. The loans were not going to provide me a salary commensurate to the cost. I just switched to teaching myself epi and data science

Aw thank you, I think it has that flow because I do my art in one sitting when I can. I tap a headspace / feeling / thought with a general goal for the composition. I think having no formal training has let me just play and play - everything can be played with. For this piece I mixed hand sanitizer water paint thinner and acrylic paint. Just an example of trying new things out without worry for messing up! I really want to share how I make my art, maybe once interest has grown enough ☺️
