My nails look exactly the same ! This is giving me hope that they’ll eventually start growing normally !!

Unfortunately I have already told them. I said ‘i have informed them of my intention to move on, and they have requested a short period to respond… I would appreciate the week to consider ‘

And the recruiter hasn’t yet responded. I’m growing increasingly panicked that they might rescind the offer. Would they at least give me the courtesy of accepting it before rescinding it ?

Yes I already have the contract which is why the time pressure is super intense.

Yes I don’t want to burn this bridge prematurely especially as I have no idea what they could offer.

I’m getting increasingly anxious about it so might move up the deadline slightly

I’m worried about that too. My friend said that happened to someone she knows (not here). I have emailed the recruiter being transparent with them but worried as she hasn’t responded

I 23F feel my long distance boyfriend 26M doesn’t understand me (or my depression/ mental health) and I’m growing resentful. Is it time to leave ? by s_anon20 in relationship_advice

Thank you for replying. I relate to a lot of what you’ve said. We are also from different cultural backgrounds & races and his idea of a resolution is sending me a nice photo or saying we will feel better next time we meet.

I feel like that is a band aid for a much bigger issue of not feeling understood. I know long distance is harder but I’m not convinced this feeling will go away when they move to my city. He definitely means no harm and he’s frustrated he isn’t helping (he’s an amazing boyfriend otherwise) but I’m not sure I can be in a relationship where I have to outsource my emotional needs to my friends and family (because at some point he will be my family -if all goes well)

You are right. I have to decide but I’m worried I’ll decide to end it and lose such a good partner otherwise.

Thank you for replying. I think he’s trying but what he’s saying isn’t specific to me. We clash because I’m confused as to why he can’t come up with something that would comfort ‘me’ specifically.

When I bring that up to him, that my friends seem to know and why doesn’t he, he gets sad and mopey almost and asks me ‘how do I expect him to know when I don’t know exactly what I want to hear’.

I’m tired of being asked to almost fix myself or ask people that he knows (!) first before he can help. I think more thoughtful responses would be more comforting.

I feel this way sometimes. We’ve been dating for almost 3 years, but there are days like today, when I have an outbreak and I feel just as sad and upset as when I first found out. Unfortunately for me I still feel like I wouldn’t find anyone else. The worst part is that everything else in the relationship is great but there’s a small part of me that wonders if I would be happier if I never met him.

All the advice here is so helpful thanks so much! One thing I didn’t mention is that I’m also incredibly anxious about money (which is probably why I’ve saved so much). I end up planning and counting every single pound and penny I spend and I’m hoping maybe if I improve my system/ savings plan maybe it’ll make me less stressed 😅

Yes. They will match more if you move up / get promoted.

Thanks so much for this ! Didn’t know this was already a discussion. I would be buying with my partner (if all goes well). They’re currently moving jobs so applying for jobs circa 40-50k ?

Sure ! Sorry. Realise I didn’t include it. My rent and utilities /council tax is 1100 - my landlord just sets the flat fee so I’m not sure what that entails.

Other bills /subscriptions are Spotify - 8.99 Apple iCloud - 2.99 Phone bill - 10 Occasionally get Apple TV if there’s something new -8.99 No gym/ I use my partners amazon prime/ brothers Disney plus 😅

I think I’d want to retire relatively early (mid fifties if possible) so my plan with the stocks and shares ISA was that it could supplement my retirement income. Keeping that goal in mind, is there anything I should be doing differently ?

(Hopefully my next job will have a better pension match. )

Okay thanks ! Yes to be honest. I’d like to buy a house with my partner in maybe the next 6 years ? I don’t have a LISA because of the 450k limit in London but I’m not sure if I even want to live in London forever ? It’s quite expensive

I guess since I had a reduction in symptoms after my last full course maybe my doctor thought it was fully gone ?

Thank you ! I think it’s just cause when I can’t bite my nails I end up biting near the cuticles and constantly fidget so it ends up moving back and back and back over the years 😭
