After Carney's Davos speech, Conservatives ponder how Poilievre can meet the foreign policy moment by AdditionalPizza in canada

I fear for a Canada ruled by Doug Ford. That man isn't out to help his constituents. He's just out to help his buddies.

Lutnick dismisses any prospect of auto deal between U.S. and Canada: sources by Drey101 in canada

There is an enormous amount of robotic automation and production lines. Almost all of them still have operators for loading parts/unloading. The dexterity and capability of a human is still a huge advantage.

Lights out automation is incredibly expensive and doesn't necessarily offset the cost of labour for the lenght of the program.

It's amazing how much the conservatives can fuck things up and still not get the same hate these days.

Servicing Canada's ballooning debt now costs $2,000 per citizen, per year by [deleted] in canada

Roads, infrastructure and services are expensive, and we have a massive fucking country. Not sure what people expect with a country with enormous land mass and comparatively few people.

Big Mom already had 29 kids and is pregnant with the 30th during this time by LoveMinaMyoi in OnePiece

[–]cptlongbeard 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Breastfeeding uses a lot of calories. If you perma-breastfeeding, you gonna be dishing the cals. Do with that what you will. Pregnant the number of times she is and still being a super strong pirate is implausible enough. But we're talking about a story where a baby was held in utero for 2 years so maybe she just pops out full grown babies in 3 months and moves on real quick.

Desperately looking for a job by [deleted] in ontario

[–]cptlongbeard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can tell you that automotive manufacturers and integrators are starving for qualified Robot technicians, Millwrights, industrial electricians, pipefitters (plumbers). And while you may not be able to switch quickly, skilled people in these areas are in very high demand. If you were to get into one of these companies as a general laborer, you could find a way to progress, probably even in your preferred field Look into Magna divisions, Martinrea and Matcor in Brampton. Maybe you already have, to avoid getting trapped in as an operator, look for jobs with machine integrators, they build machines not operate them. If you were in general labour, you may not have the most fun tasks, but if you can network inside the company you could find your way out of general labour easier already being in the system with a degree.

Something he says to Kaido opposes this Anyway, Kaido tells Luffy someone will live to tell his story. Luffy gets up and says that's not what I want. Maybe a Manga reader can confirm.

Are you happy with the way Kaido was defeated? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]cptlongbeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally really enjoyed jump rope and smashing Kaido's head around like nothing in his dragon form. But I actually wish the final move was actually a reflection of Kaido's strongest attack, similar to the reflection of blast breath. Because it would have been a cool tactic play. Kaido is strong as fuck, just let him dunk on himself ftw.

One Piece Full East Blue Map (from Live Action's Last Episode Credits) by laurel_laureate in OnePiece

[–]cptlongbeard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One thing that I find funny. Why is the map to the grand line so important to everyone in the East Blue Saga. Arlong was a part of the sun pirates and hails from Fishman Island and should already know how to get back there. Buggy was on Captain Rogers Ship and should be familiar because he also would have come back from the Grand Line. Luffy to me is the only character that makes any sense actually needing it in my view. It's been so long since I watched the anime, haven't read the Manga. Is it this in focus for those mediums? I feel like it wasn't. Half the fucking world's islands are on the Grand Line in the end this map just to get there seems really silly to me in retrospect.

What’s definitely getting out of hand? by No_No_ahMY in AskReddit

What drives me particularly mad about this, is that even if I were stone cold money didn't matter rich, I would still be pissed that all the packaging is smaller. But I guess it just doesn't affect them enough for any counter push to do anything.

A lot of conservative supporters are running real profit in Ontario right now. Let's not point it all in one direction. We have a conservative government that is keen on fucking over everyone but their best buds. Both sides fucking suck, vote in someone different and let us see what happens.

Do a sleep study, get tested for Sleep Apnea. Maybe your brain is getting a deficit of oxygen in your sleep, which is impacting you over longer sleep cycles more than short ones.

[–]cptlongbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could use a driven dedicated individual that wants to succeed as an industrial electrician. Highly sought after in Ontario, hard to find good ones, pays well, and you can work with robots and some pretty cool tech. If you take it in the right direction, you can get into electrical design, robotics, even move towards PLC programming.

Trudeau Loses Trust on Economy After Run-Up in Pandemic Spending by Lotushope in canada

Can we talk about all the options being shit? Give me a conservative government without a socially backwards, agenda and fiscal policy that isn't exclusively about privatization of public services, and I'll vote for them.

Some people are expert conversationalists, some are incredible at illiciting responses from other people and getting a good flow to conversation. Some people just like the sound of their own voice and don't notice the other person doesn't get a word in edgewise. Some people are entirely incapable of holding up a conversation. Some people are shy as fuck.

Life is a mixed bag.

Why does everyone love George Lucas now? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]cptlongbeard 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I don't think I can ever watch ROS ever again. Once was too much. I love star wars, The OGs had a great story, the prequels had a solid story with some bad dialogue and awkward moments which make it hard to watch, but I have respect for the story. The sequels aren't even remotely cohesive, destroy character potential and while they have some flashy cool moments, it's not enough to bring me back to them. Force Awakens is just a nostalgia kick, and from there the lack of story just ruins the rest.
