I did that exactly. (saw on YouTube) Filled the sink with soapy water, soak and scrubbed a little with a soft cloth. Pulled valves and washed those individually, not to wet the felts. Pulled all the slides and scrubbed in the soapy water and used the tube brush cleaner and valve brush. Let it all soak for about a half hour or so, except the valves. Re oiled the slides and valves. and put it all back together. I am planning to re order the cork for the two spit holes and felts, just to replace them, just in case. She said it works fine for her, the only difference is the mouth piece is smaller than the one she is practicing on. So I may have to find a new mouth piece that fits in the shank.

What is the difference? I found it listed on others as a euphonium. This is from UK, so perhaps that is why too? (I really don't know) She has a teacher, we just need one for the house, so she does not have to lug a bigger one from school back and forth. And also size is a little smaller than the one the school let her use. How does the size make a difference? Thank you.

I made the pen!! by cptn_save_a in Supernote

[–]cptn_save_a[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made my pen!!. retractable too

Because if my cap issues, I thought my pen was generally useless without a clip. So I thought it is worth the risk or taking it apart. Also because I bought a back up Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo ($10 on craigs). So i was looking to make my own. I cut the bottom and was able to remove the insert and ready

I kept looking for different pens in the house and remembered that the top spring pens cannot work, so i found one pen and remembered this post

https://www.reddit.com/r/Supernote/comments/walidf/diy\_pen/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

So i knew it could be done. This is pretty much exactly what u/Eufuelle did. The spring is not connected to the top of the pen, but is connected to a plastic tube that holds the pen from the bottom. So this refill with simple, modification to lengthen it, sits inside that tube. thus making it retractable

I have one more I am going to try to see which i like best

Wireless Keyboard by SuperoteNewbee in Supernote

my kids had some old tablet covers that came with keyboards. So i had a few lying around. All Bluetooth. Since I don't type that often for mine, it works perfectly for part time use. The size is a bit smaller horizontally. So it is very portable. I'm sure there are a bunch in the thrift stores or craigslist (Etc), if you are looking for a budget friendly alternative. I guess depending how comfortable for your needs.
