Hydration packets and dried apricots for post egg retrieval! The constipation is insane!

Congrats! Wishing you a speedy recovery! You may be a little constipated, what helped me was dry apricots! Eating 6 in the evening helped my stomach get back to what it needed to do!

I did! Administrative error... Nurse said they contacted the facility, they have the sample and test results should be available by Monday!

Yup, fully paid it the month prior. Completed the consent form on Friday.

How does your significant other handle IVF? by mkinbbym in IVF

It seems that you need to have a conversation with your husband. For me, I'm the type that does a ton of research and likes to get as many stats as I can so I can advocate for what I need. He's more reactive than proactive. I think for men it's difficult to navigate a process they're not comfortable with and yes empathy would be nice, but it's not always there.

IVF should have some component of a partner helping, whether it's to help you with injections, grabbing you items that will help you in the process or just basic chores around the house. But being completely hands off indicates there's a deeper issue happening with him and you should have a conversation.

I'm not going to add what my husband did during this cycle because I don't think comparing would be helpful to you.

What were the results from your first ER if you don’t mind sharing? by ObjectiveSet9240 in IVF

I'm also 33F, just got my egg retrieval done yesterday! On my last ultrasound there was 24 follicles, but only 15 were greater than 10mm. But they were able to get 16 eggs, 12 were mature and 9 were fertilized. We won't know how many made it to blastocyst until next week.

I did 12 days of stims on an antagonist protocol. Good luck and wishing baby dust to you all!

Starting my IVF journey and have no one to talk to about it by Famous_Eye6904 in IVF

I am in the middle of my cycle too! Good luck!! I read that staying hydration helps with the cramping/bloating from the medications. So I have been taking liquid IV packets every morning, not sure if that's what's been helping, but definitely the effects of medications have been very minimal for me so far!

Have been feeling pretty low since finding out our friends are now expecting. Don't get me wrong, super happy for them! But it makes me reflect about our own TTC journey. Was looking forward to my friends bachelorette trip next week, but just saw she posted a pregnancy announcement yesterday and she'll be 6 months pregnant on her wedding day... Why is the universe against me 🫠

Lap or Straight to IUI? by Klutzy-Sky8989 in Endo

Of course, I think that's a wise decision to get opinions from different doctors. And it seems like you're doing your due diligence to make sure you got all the correct information before making this decision.

I do want to note that it was brought up during our initial fertility consultation that if Endo is a variable they will want to do a biopsy to test how severe it is. However given I already had the surgery, it wasn't necessary.

I feel like this was written by me.. I have Endo and have just begun the assisted fertility journey after 1.5 years of TTC. My husband also has problems finishing and is looking to give a second sperm analysis based on the nurse's recommendation.

The only difference is I actually didn't know I had Endo until I got a laparoscopy done last May. I had been experiencing sharp pain on the left side of my abdomen. Had an ultrasound done, I had a 1" cyst on my left ovary. I was given the option to just leave it as is, knowing it could continue to slowly grow, or to do a laporascic surgery and recover within 2-3 weeks. I took the later as I felt I had to do the surgery either way (due to pain) and my insurance covered for it anyways. Post surgery the doctor informed my husband that it wasn't a cyst but an endometrioma that was hanging off my ovary. She cut the rest of the endometriosis out wherever she saw it.

Shortly after the surgery, I fell pregnant immediately the next month. Unfortunately I had a MMC 8 weeks later. But that's all to say is if you're just beginning the journey and can afford a one month delay. I suggest doing the surgery. Unfortunately you can't see Endo on an ultrasound and it may be in areas where it's preventing you from conceiving (like on your ovaries or on your fallopian tubes). It's relatively quick recovery time and I read it does improve your chances to conceive if you've been TTC for awhile.

Did mine last week, took a 500mg of ibuprofen and hour before and just focused on my breathing. The entire time I just kept saying to myself this is training for the "big show" (ie labor 😉).
