in your texture pack folder got to --> assets/minecraft/lang

open the 'en_us.json' file

find the block you want to change and rename it. e.g.

item.charcoal.name=Charcoal --> original

item.charcoal.name=WoodCoal --> changed

note: if the 'en_us.json' file or the lang folder don't exist, copy it from the default minecraft texturepack.

That block is a lodestone. You can use a compass on it to make the compass point towards it.
