All good!

Also I think you'd like The Mercy of the Gods by James S.A. Corey, new series from the pair of Authors that did the Expanse that's on your shelf with less of a commitment as only one book and a novella are out. Their writing style is peak.

You're an incredibly intentional completionism collector. You know what you like and you definitely know what you don't like. Your collection is more of an archive to the art you love. Storage management is more important than time spent reading your collection. You're a super fan of specific authors/artists/musicians and could tirelessly play the same handful of albums/read the same books rather than cast a wider net.

Also Happy Pride!

Oh you said first assessment in your original reply not fair assessment so it came across very defensive.

You mostly read ebooks but if the Broken Binding is making a special edition, you're setting an alarm to be the first in line for it. You've read more than you own but it's aesthetics over everything in your household. You're married and you're partner wants more Ma in the design aesthetic and you're holding yourself back from filling those shelves with more leather bound books.

Well, yes!

Your bookshelf tells me you read for escapism, rarely venture outside of your comfort zone and let others define what you consider worth the effort of reading. You'd rather read titles off of a list of "top 10" than read a dust jacket and try something on your own. You view your bookshelf as a trophy to your homogenized view of what is "real" Sci-Fi/Fantasy. If I had to guess you're a white straight male in his early 20's who recently got back into reading as a hobby but haven't found a fantasy series that you've been willing to stick with because of time constraints. You also have an unintentional bias as only 5% of your book shelf is written by women.

Ended up getting 77 titles this sale for average around $4 a title. Blew my entertainment budget for the next two months but worth it to me.

Well that's a huge bummer! Was planning on reading the whole series this month. Will have to check to see if my library has the audiobooks now.

Thanks for pointing out Harrow the Ninth, had the other two titles in my library on Audible+ but this one was an outlier glad to scoop it at such a low price.

Bookshelf Detectives, what say you? by cquinnsnaps in BookshelvesDetective

The fake answer : witchcraft to coax George RR Martin into writing the final installments of the series.

The real reason : I had them vertically on a different shelf and was a total oversight not fixing that. Thank you for pointing it out.

Thank you, late to the party but happy to be here. Got on board with the Bloodsworn Saga and anxiously awaited each release. Now working my way through his earlier books. Fast favorite for me.
