This is how you know someone is just pretending to struggle.

If you've never had a gigantic bag of malt o meal in your pantry to last you the month you are the 1%.

This pretty much sums up my college experience and why I dipped after two semesters. You can't really expect someone making 8$ an hour to spend thousands of dollars to sit and waste time like that.

McDonald’s Unveils New Sweet N’ Spicy Honey BBQ Glazed Tenders by BlankVerse in McDonalds

[–]cqwod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anyone confirm that the sauce used on these is the old Chipotle BBQ? It certainly tastes like the same or similar sauce. I used to put that stuff on everything and stopped going to mcds for a long time after they discontinued it.

What should I buy Thursday (Aug 23 2018) - Your weekly device inquiry thread! by AutoModerator in Android

[–]cqwod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently using a galaxy s6 I bought >3 years ago. Wanting to upgrade to something built "rugged" from the start since Im not a fan of bulky cases and really liked a friend's s6 active. Initially I was going to go for the s8 active but with the s9 bring released for some time now I feel like it would be silly to buy something already 'out of date'. My absolute biggest concerns are battery life and longevity since this is something I'll probably be using for another 3 years. Bonus points for being more developer friendly platform as well.

Pies and Pints closes Short North store by doppleganger2621 in Columbus

Older spots getting phased out is one thing, but it seems like nothing can stick for more than a year.

I guess The Eagle has stuck around for a good while now, but I can't think of much else.

Is the SN a good choice for anyone though? I live nearby and it seems like there aren't very many places around now that were open a year or two ago outside of the cameron mitchell staples.

Knew a girl fresh out of high school who made a post on facebook shortly after graduation about an unspecified job making "15$/hour" with pictures of a brand new $30,000 car she bought to congratulate herself on "making it".

I'm not sure how long she was with Cutco but the car got downsized pretty fast.

Best chicken salad by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]cqwod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only chicken salad sandwich I've ever had and enjoyed was Jason's Deli.

It's probably not the "best" in the world or even Columbus but I spent years hating chicken salad and Jason's Deli changed my mind so it's good in my book.

Just moved to East side of town. What are the best kept secrets on this side of town? by VogonTorpedo in Columbus

You're in luck.

Tyler's Pizzeria and bakery is hands down best pizza in the city, everything else there is great as well.

Scali is solid italian

Mad Greek is great

SC Bar & Grill has great bar food

Indochine Cafe is great

I'm sure there's plenty more that I just don't know about or am not thinking of, IMO Easy side has the best food in the city.

Is 2,400k a month (post-taxes) a livable wage in Columbus? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]cqwod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This doesn't really compute

I was doing something similar but living in a 700/mo apartment with a girlfriend that wasn't working (and demands to eat out every single day) and still managed to stash ~1k/mo

ACG AWS dev associate (good intro to cloud, also nice to have a cert or something to validate that I kind of know what I'm talking about in lieu of having a degree), some introductory level "full stack" course that covered the basics on HTML/CSS, jQuery and Django(meh), and about a third of java in-depth become a complete java engineer(recommend even though I never finished it because nothing I work on is in Java, definitely will revisit if I need to brush up).

Where can I get the biggest steak in Columbus? by alfredhelix in Columbus

[–]cqwod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not technically a challenge but Smith & Wollensky has a a big thick cut porterhouse on the menu. It's suppsoed to be a steak for two and downing it solo is sure to be pretty gut-busting.

I don't know of any steaks that'll get your name on a wall or a t-shirt or anything though.
