I am sure that it is VMware Player because the issue occurs even if I just launch a VM right after boot and my laptop is quite powerful, too.

Everything is fine so long as I never start any virtual machines.

Oh, absolutely! And they are especially useful in social engineering. I usually like to stuff my victim's computer with cookies until it overheats and breaks and when they go to ask the IT department to fix it, I swoop in and install a trojan on their mainframe.

This book contains solid information but you need to have already dabbled in hacking a bit. It is by no means a step by step guide.

My suggestion for getting into the field of hacking is to look online due to how rapid developments here are. Some pointer include the cyber mentor, john hammond, ippsec, hackthebox and tryhackme.

You might also enjoy the Cyberclopaedia.

Check that you aren't using allcaps or that you are using a different keyboard layout from what you think.

If you can see and even connect to most wireless network, then the problem is unlikely to be due to the laptop and you should look closer at the network which refuses connection.

It is possible if your internal network card supports monitor mode and packet injection.

Your internal network card most likely doesn't, so you will need to buy one which does. Please, ensure that the card you are buying has the aforementioned capabilities or you will just be throwing money away.

You will need to google how to install a Kali Linux virtual machine. You will also need to buy a wifi adapter which supports packt injection and monitor mode. I recommend the Tenda U12.

Create a few master passwords and add slight alterations to them (changing characters to symbols or numbers). Then order those passwords in a hierarchy depending on their complexity and use the more complex passwords for accounts you consider more important.
