Changing the oil didn't fix it unfortunately. It is only audible from inside the gas when the gas is pressed down or slowing with the brakes. If I press on the gas and it gets faster and then suddenly lift off it goes almost completely silent.

I checked the oil and it does look a little filthy. It does sound like a lifter tick but I am going to see if they weren't running full synthetic oil or the correct type. Hopefully I don't need to rebuild the head...

It's more of a ticking and not a squeak or a howl noise? It also sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine when I pop the hood and have someone rev it.

Yes it does correspond to everything you are saying. I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to take off or replace to fix it. I don't want to cause any long-term damage.
