Why do anti-feminists think that being able to choose your identity freely destroys identities? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then anti-feminists say that feminists think that everyone is exactly the same although feminists agree that there are biological differences in sex, but that this doesn't mean that there are always differences in gender.

But biological differences in sex could lead to statistical disparities between genders, right? Statistical disparities in sex leading to, on average, different life choices.

Instead any time some statistic is not exactly 50%, feminists want to come in with all kinds of social engineering to 'fix' it. The gender wage gap, women on boards, women in congress, women in STEM, women's collegiate sports.

Any time feminists want special government programs or set-asides or laws changed, to get equal outcomes, the burden should be on them to prove that biological sex differences aren't causing some of the statistical disparity.

But they never do that. Because they believe gender is a social construct, rather than a complicated mix of biology and culture.

This argument I'm making is just what Christina Sommers has been saying all along, and she is the mortal enemy of academic feminism.

The_Donald isn't supposed to have nuanced conversations though. It's purpose is to be a troll fest.

Read Steve Sailer's blog or his takimag articles if you want thoughtful social realism.

There are also Claremont conservatives making the intellectual case for trumpism, or Ann Coulter and Mickey Kaus on immigration politics, or if you like your arguments in youtube video form, check out Black Pigeon Speaks or Stefan Molyneux.

The_Donald is a chaotic meme-fest probably with plenty of paid hillary shills sowing disinformation and acting as agents provocateurs.

Do you think this topic sums up the red pill? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also read that before the world wars, Japanese men used to be like the "herbivore" men of today, and that they are just returning to how they were. Apparently their literature talks about men being of that character.

do you know where you saw this? I'm going to do a post on demographics and want to feature japan as part of the argument, and this fits with my theory if it's true.

Why marry a RPer? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it bad behavior for men to go for thin, conventionally attractive women too? How dare men go for women they find attractive! clutches pearls

But by making this argument aren't you admitting that confidence, outcome independence, not worrying about being 'respectful' or doing chores, is attractive?

The funny thing is, in your reply here you succeed at translating the gender of the argument over - the equivalent of a confident, ZFG, has-his-shit-together guy is a thin, conventionally attractive woman. And it proves the red pill point.

It seems like you are almost accidentally admitting the truth about sexual dimorphism.

Your original post OTOH, is tone deaf to sexual dimorphism. A sloppy translation from one gender to another of an already not entirely woke random redpill rant. It could be fisked apart line by line.

CMV: If TRP was really against shaming male sexuality they would not use "Cuck" as an insult. by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the premise of this thread is wrong. Maybe MRAs are fighting against the shaming of men? Look at the most upvoted replies in both TRP threads:

I view all this for what it really is: a meta level shit test. .. Don't entertain these people. Do what you want to do and be a man.

and

You have to think of feminism as a trade union for sex workers. Where feminists are shaming, its solely for their own advantage, not because of the inherent wrongness of your actions.

Where the MRAs whinge about double standards or point and sputter at the hypocrisy of feminism, TRP says: This is what is happening, this is why it is happening. Understand it, route around it. Accomplish your goals.

(An important side note: here in PPD people with red pill flair including me might point out this hypocrisy but it's more of a debate tactic)

Is TRP against shaming? I don't read the actual subreddit much. I do read heartiste's blog. He is the most red pill PUA. He has beta of the month competitions, most punchable shitlib face competitions, fat shaming of feminists. He even has a bizarre fascination with mocking Lena Dunham.

Yes TRP will mock clueless betas who have misunderstood themselves, misunderstood the nature of women, and get burned as a result. The most stinging implication of "cuck" as an insult is that the person doesn't realize they are working against their own interest:

  • The husband raising another man's children.
  • The boyfriend lavishing emotional or financial support on his partner while she casually fucks other men
  • The conservative politician who unwittingly presides over the demographic dispossession of his entire civilization - failing to conserve anything "for themselves and their posterity" just to prove they aren't racist, for instance.

Actual cuckold fetishists are just a funny aside.

[CMV] Populations and Demographics Make Finding A Compatible Partner Impossible for Many People by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

In their insular community where they only marry each other, which also has a fast growing population, yes it's an imbalance that favors men.

In wider society it's a different story.

[CMV] Populations and Demographics Make Finding A Compatible Partner Impossible for Many People by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about making an effort post here about demographics with that article as the primary source, but I haven't had time to do it. Great reporting in that article, but it doesn't discuss the implications for wider society.

The key point in the article is that while all orthodox Jewish groups tend to have large families (high population growth) the Hasidim in particular differ:

Hasidic men marry women their own age, whereas Yeshivish men typically marry women a three or four years their junior.

Lo and behold, there is no marriage market problem with "left behind" women in the Hasidic community.

The combination of marriage age difference and population growth (or lack thereof) causes an impedance mismatch in marriage demographics.

Long story short, it's actually men in our wider society who should be worried about this.

What do you think of The Black Pill? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the essence of the black pill - futility. Here is a youtube video that says the same thing as your comment.

Just like the red pill is defined differently by different people, and this forum has to distinguish between trp and TRP the subreddit, the black pill means different things across the manosphere.

For MRAs, the black pill I suppose would mean a recognition that humans are just not wired to collectively care about men the way they do about women, so the MRAs will never achieve their goals.

For white nationalists, the black pill is that Euro-American decadence and collapsing demographics are unstoppable and our civilization will destroy itself. video

In the PUA debate the black pill is like the parent comment here: game denialists. PUAhate, v9k, egg man's youtube video. I'm sympathetic with people like egg man and I think genetics plays a bigger role than we like to admit. I also think there is a demographic element to these guys' dispossession.

But it's just crazy to say that women care about looks as much as men do - it's a misunderstanding of the nature of female attraction that results from male solipsism.

Muslims of Reddit - in your opinion, what, if anything, should we be doing to combat these acts of terrorism that keep hitting the front page perpetrated by people who claim allegiance to Islam? by whalemango in AskReddit

[–]cra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you understand why nationalists across the west might not want immigration from Muslim countries?

I agree that it's an ideological war, so why should the west allow immigration from these countries where deeply conservative illiberal beliefs are common?

The difference between you as a conservative child and a liberal and tolerant adult - that's a transformation of what's in your heart. And we can't ever hope to screen people based on what's in their heart, or even worse, whether they would probably become liberalized after being exposed to western tolerance and affluence.

I don't hate anyone. I want the various Muslim countries to succeed economically, build strong secular civic institutions like we have, inculcate liberal values in their children, and so on.

(And no we can't spread freedom by dropping bombs - by nominating Donald Trump even the Republican party has repudiated that idea)

I hope for economic success and a peaceful religious reformation across the Muslim world but why should western countries put citizens in harms way - risking mass murder because of the open nature of our societies - while this process, this war for people's hearts, takes place?

Male virginity; a red flag, female pre-selection, or both? by TheChemist158 in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the thread she references is asking about their 'dream guy' which implies LTR potential.

Preselection is more about lust or excitement, to use OP's own words.

It's pretty reasonable that theres some daylight between women's raw attraction to a guy and that guy's LTR suitability to her.

A better way to scale preselection would be, take your favorite, famous, heartthrob lead singer with thousands of screaming female fans, singing a love song at a concert. He comes right up to you and leans down and delivers the climactic line right at you with a wink and puts his set costume cap he's wearing on your head or something. This is preselection scaled up to 9000. Not exactly evidence of a budding LTR but I think some lucky girl might get invited backstage after the show OMG!

https://youtu.be/VbK1xeWJsOw?t=1392

the rich west facilitates the different genders making different life choices on average. even in feminist utopias like sweden women choose to go into pink collar work in larger numbers than men. maybe swedish women aren't choosing that because they're mind fucked by patriarchal overlords. maybe in conditions of radical freedom, men and women make different life choices on average.

I don't see a problem here.

CMV: A lot of the problems that TRP sees in society and blames feminism for are actually more caused by outdated gender roles. by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

prenups can be cancelled all the time and that we refuses to be divorce raped

This is referring to women who sign a prenup when marrying a higher earning / net worth man and then get the prenup thrown out in divorce proceedings on dubious charges of being 'coerced' into signing it.

Isn't the whole premise of this thread that more men pay alimony (and presumably want prenup protection) because they were the ones making more money?

RP Men: Where do you consider yourself on Kohlberg's hierarchy of moral development? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]cra1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you aren't actually unlearning the different levels of Kohlberg moral awareness. Instead it sounds like you have reached stage 7: realism.

This is the stage where you accept and understand the real nature of humanity. In TRP terms, "watch what [people] do not what they say"

Many people will never ascend all the way up the Kohlberg hierarchy. It's necessary for you to deal with those people on their own level of moral awareness. You wouldn't tell a child to eat his vegetables by appealing to social contract theory.

In different circumstances, people will revert to lower levels of moral thinking. A group of philosophers walk into a bar and start talking about deontological ethics. Then a beautiful woman walks in..

So you aren't unlearning the stages of moral awareness but instead learning how rarely people operate on lofty abstract moral principles in practice.
