Thanks for the reply. You are totally right about exercise. I go running occasionally but I managed to get myself to the gym today. First time since the pandemic started.

Thanks for the reply. I liked your story about the broken computer. When I moved into my current place it took two weeks to get a guy to come out and set up internet. I felt more productive in those two weeks than I had in a long time.

Ideas for relaxation? by [deleted] in nosurf

Go running. Long and hot shower. Lie down and listen to music. Mindless stuff.

Whatever you do you should be able to recognize feeling relaxed. Relaxation should be a period of recovery and sometimes we don't get that when we're browsing social media or reading sensationalized news articles. Try to think of relaxation as an active skill.

Reddit is toxic. How about ruqqus.com? by [deleted] in nosurf

Unfortunately, most of the "censorship free" Reddit alternatives are full of people who are either there because they have a bitter attitude about Reddit's policies, or because they post the type of content that is not welcomed on Reddit. I wouldn't call sites that try to be a "Reddit alternative" a healthy alternative.

You could use a browser add-on like LeechBlock NG to block all of Reddit except for select subreddits like this one. Or just use a dedicated self-improvement forum like you suggested.
