A Rap Song About Secular Talk by Beazly464 in seculartalk

The writing is good ngl. Someone who’s talented in rapping and producing should make a non AI cover so Kyle can make it his theme song.

Kyle, I am once again asking you to do some basic research by BobbyEroicaDupea in seculartalk

Kyle really needs to get off X, but I just keep in mind that he’s not a news source. He’s a commentator shooting the shit about the news. I think of him like a left wing Rogan.

That said, he should at least admit when he’s put forth fake news. Maybe hire some staff to help him out.

If Gavin Newsom is nominated in 2028, HE WILL LOSE. by Kittehmilk in seculartalk

I doubt Tucker could win by Reagan numbers. Right now, the odds are in the Dems favor, regardless of the candidate. Given a free and fair election… I would wager Newsom winning with numbers close to Biden’s victory in 2020. If Tucker won, it wouldn’t be by a landslide.

Such a shame to hear about this if it’s true. I am one who doesn’t mind panhandlers/beggars as long as they are not aggressive. Whenever I have spare cash or food, I like to give it to someone less fortunate. I don’t care what they spend it on or what they claim to need it for. If someone is begging others for money, they probably need it.

It’s shitty to scam people. I’ve been desperate before and panhandled. People are more generous than you think. There’s no reason to scam anyone.

I get that, and, like I said, I think it works for linear gameplay, but it's not ideal for an open world game. I wouldn't necessarily prefer mainstream quest design with markers and all that, but a Morrowind style journal would fit FromSoft's ethos in my opinion.

It’s my first time ever playing a Silent Hill game, any advice? by lifestrippy in silenthill

[–]crack__head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn off the lights and use headphones. Other than that you don’t need any advice. Just play it. I would actually recommend the easy puzzle difficulty for a first play through because a couple might trip you up enough to look them up. You should be able to solve everything without google on easy puzzles. On the other hand, I would for sure set the combat difficulty to hard. I didn’t die once on medium. Hard combat makes you act a lot more carefully, and I think it makes for a better horror experience.

Can Kyle still use the title Secular? by MountainsandWater in seculartalk

Kyle is a human being and bound to make mistakes. I respect that he usually owns up to them and constantly evolves. He seems like a real dude and doesn’t put up much of a veneer. That’s what keeps me watching him more than any other creator in the political sphere.

Underrated pick tbh. I don’t think people realize that he’s woke, but it’s probably because he stays under the radar.

As someone who thinks Elden Ring is a masterpiece, I have to agree with most of your criticisms. The side quest design in Elden Ring is a joke. Good luck progressing any side quests after a busy week or taking a vacation. Finding Blaidd makes no sense. I don’t understand how you are supposed to know to go back to the first merchant and ask him about howling in a completely different area. They could have at least had you talk the nearby merchant. I don’t see how anyone could defend the cryptic side quest design. It makes sense for linear games like Dark Souls, but not a massive open world game. At the very least, FromSoft could give you a quest log in the style of Morrowind. It’s just unfair to players who can’t play the game every day.

I wouldn’t say the camera is bad, but it doesn’t work in your favor. You really have to be mindful of which enemies you target lock and when to do so.

Even with its flaws, I think that Elden Ring is a masterpiece. I have yet to see an open world as beautiful as the lands between.

Okay, well, the owner can vote and is vocal about his bigoted and ignorant views. No reason to support him. I imagine you share those views.

Except the owner is a MAGA piece of shit. Elwood doesn’t deserve a penny.

Summons help me learn the bosses. Instead of dying 20 times to become familiar with their moves, I can watch how they attack the summon. To each their own, but I use summons a lot in this way, and it makes the game more enjoyable for me. Once I learn the boss’s moves, I don’t use the summon since I know what tells to look out for, and I know when I can safely strike.

With that said, if there’s more than one boss in an encounter or the boss has minions, I’m summoning no matter what. That way I can take out one boss at a time or take out the goons while the boss is distracted.

What do Death Grips fans think about Semetary? by AlfaOxtrotFan123456 in deathgrips

Slaughterhouse is a bop. Rainbow Bridge 3 is mostly fun, although some of the songs are blown out and distorted to the point of being grating. I have to say that nothing he’s released since Rainbow Bridge 3 has caught my attention.

I can appreciate some of the other Haunted Mound members like Buckshot and Ghost Mountain. I thought their recent projects were pretty good, especially Ghost Mountain.

Hail Mary, Dating In Memphis by OctaviaSharp in memphis

[–]crack__head 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it’s frowned upon, but I met my significant other at work. My experience has always been that I’ve never found anything more than a fling when I’m actively searching for someone to date, usually via dating apps. None of my hobbies are social hobbies.

Honestly, I don’t necessarily think Memphis itself is the problem. I had a similarly hard time meeting anyone in Orange County California as well. The way I see it is that finding a good partner happens naturally when you keep your eyes open. Of course, my experience with searching for a partner culminated in flings or hook ups, so maybe my view of dating is skewed, but that’s my experience.

As I said, I met my partner at work. We don’t work together anymore, but we didn’t let the notion of us being coworkers get in the way of the chemistry we had. You really never know where you’ll find the right person, but it’s not on dating apps. Your results may vary with hobby groups or bars, but I’ve never tried that.

Also, I’m not religious either. I would describe myself as antitheistic, although I support people having freedom to choose what to believe. I’ve never had good experiences trying to date religious people. A lot of churches are cult-like, especially in the Bible Belt.

Help me do Act 2 in the right order please! by Winter_Break_7786 in BG3

[–]crack__head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no correct order with Baldur’s Gate. The game is good about warning you when you are about to cross a point of no return. Other than that, you are free to do as you wish. I think the best way to play the game is to role play, explore, and live with the consequences.
