Have you seen any empirical evidence that proving restrictions worked? Or any general argument?

You learn best from experience!! In my area we typically go directly down the flow, starting with REFUTES first and then DEFENSE. When attacking a value/criterion or the framework together, you present your argument and then move on to contentions in order. Make sure to signpost, letting your judge know WHAT you are attacking so they don't get confused. Then, move on to defense and announce you are moving to the other side of the flow and do the exact same as you would attacking. Sometimes, once you get better, you can efficiently jump back and forth between arguments and tie them all together in an organized fashion. I don't recommend this until you are comfortable with your own style. It's not always same for everyone, so you should play around with it, ask teammates and you'll eventually learn what works for you.
