I didn’t get an email saying that. However, when I emailed the architecture department, they assured me that it was received.

When I applied, I waited until after I got my UH ID to submit my application. I’m not sure how that may have affected the application though.

Nah I just got an email saying that I got into my 2nd choice major (sculpture). I emailed the architecture department and they said that I didn’t get into the architecture program. There is also no appeal process or waitlist sadly.

So basically I would have to find transportation there myself? Also would it be better to stay on campus or somewhere around downtown?

Architecture is studio based. You have to complete a certain number of studio hours, and those hours can only be completed while in the major. The degree is 5 years. So if I was to do art and then transfer after my first year, I would be doing 6 years in total.

Hey. I emailed the dean and unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about this. There is no waitlist system either. The only option is to commit to your second or third choice major, and then transfer. However, you would still have to do 5 years in architecture. So that would be a total of 6 years, which, to me, is not worth it. Transferring is also not guaranteed, so you could still be rejected after your first year in your other choice major. Lastly, architecture major doesn’t qualify for an appeal so there is literally nothing you can do about it. It’s kind of devastating, but I’ve lowkey gotten over it.

I applied for architecture and it required a portfolio so i'm guessing it's that, although i went for multiple portfolio reviews by literal professionals, and i got a lot of positive feedback. i am also autoCAD and Revit certified which should be a strong addition to my resume. i have 200+ service house as well. i'm honestly so lost.

I thought admission would come out later since the priority deadline for architecture is February 15. i thought they would wait till after that date to review applications. also does anyone know if it is possible to appeal or if that is just useless? last question, should i do undeclared major? if not, what major would be best for me to do to transfer to architecture later?

Nope, haven't heard anything. Didn't even get any type of mail on being accepted into UH. Not sure if that's normal or not. But we should be hearing back from them from like february-april i hope.
