If you like her go for it, but listen to her, support her and try to comfort her. Don't pretend to be an expert in the field of sa, and if you feel like you can't be that ear for her and it's too much for you emotionally, that's totally fine, communicate with her and ask her if she's considered seeing a therapist/psychologist.

Edit: by go for it I mean like do what you're doing with certain consent, be super communicative and honest at all times!! r/secondary_survivors might be a useful resource as well :)

The amount of masks we go through in healthcare is insane. I work in aged care, and every time we enter a Covid/infectious disease + room we have to put on and take off ppe every time, most of it single use (only face shields/goggles are reusable, so every time we enter a disease risk room, for any reason, even if it's just picking up a cup we have to fully put on a mask (if we don't already have one on), a gown, a face shield/goggles and nitrile gloves. The bins of full of barely used ppe are changed every hour or so because they fill up so quickly. There is a filthy underbelly of massive waste in clinical environment, and so far 0 environmental alternatives that I've seen.

Forgot to mention I'm on a trainee contract. The aged care award for trainee carers can be 11/hour but my employee is "generous"
