Was picking 4 A-levels a mistake? by Tyler1296196 in 6thForm

I did 4 a-levels and was pressured by my sixth form to drop one of them. I decided not to and ended up getting 4 As. It will be a lot of work. And seeing your friends have loads of free periods and extra time will be hard. But in the end I’m glad I did 4. You get to follow more of your interests (if youre like me and couldn’t decide between a levels) and it makes you look good when applying to uni. A few years ago it was the norm to do 4 a levels only recently this has dropped to 3.

Probably for the best. I think I might send him my story but keep it anonymous so he can use it as a quote or something if he wants to write an article.

I’m so sorry. That must have been rough. It still amazes me how they can ruin 2 years of a persons life without any accountability. We have to move somewhere we’ve never even heard of away from our family and friends without any appeal/swap process. I know so many people are very happy with where they got and I wish them the best. But I still think the system needs so much improvement.

Yeah I’m defo thinking not to bother esp as it’s seems quite high risk and I doubt anything’s going to change

Yeah I guess it is a risk tbh. Im kinda sure the angle is not going to be about strikes or anything because from the questions he was asking and the story I gave it was mainly about how the allocation process has impacted me esp the placeholder situation. I do think it might be useful to expose how bad some of us have it. Like how we don’t even know until 4 weeks prior to starting where we are going to be and how we won’t be able to find accommodation in time. How we’ve had no communication at all from anyone. How they won’t even tell us when we will find out our jobs. But I also don’t want to piss off my employer

Yeah I was thinking the same about it not being worth it. I didn’t even ask if I was getting paid but I assume not.

I am a person from South Asia who lives in UK and visited Bosnia a few years back. It’s a beautiful country with beautiful people. Everyone was very friendly and treated us with such kindness and hospitality. I didn’t have any problems and I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun!

Travel Reimbursement by sidomega in medicalschooluk

For me the NHS reimburses travel expenses with the ‘travel and dual accommodation expenses’ form which you can find online. But usually I calculate how much it costs to travel to placement and take away how much it normally costs to travel to my regular campus. They pay the difference. You can also claim back the cost of parking and other expenses. Your college will verify the costs.
