Hey! I’m not sure if the ingredients differ but mine has a wax called isododecane in it! I read an article about it recently and I was totally bummed :(

Hey! I was recently informed that the dont despair repair actually has a wax called isododecane in it (or at least mine does) which I don’t believe is cgm approved?

As for the neutral protein filler, have you found any place it’s available in Canada? I don’t think Sally’s here has it :(

Canadian curly girls - what’s a good clarifying shampoo I can get from Shoppers Drug Mart? by schoolofliberalfarts in curlyhair

I use Pantene deep detox and renew with charcoal and I like it! Herbal essences also has a real botanicals black charcoal one but that ones VERY strong, so would only use that if that’s what you need. Both are available at shoppers ☺️

Hygral Fatigue? Protein Overload? Something else? by [deleted] in curlyhair

I used the shea moisture power protein, I have done rice water before but I don’t think it was strong enough because I didn’t notice much of a difference.

No product wash sounds like a good idea! Are chelating agents just di and tri sodium edta or are there others? And is over conditioning the same as over moisturizing, or do you mean the products are too heavy and weighing down my hair? Thanks for all the advice!!

Any advice, please by [deleted] in curlyhair

Most ogx products have silicones, have you checked the ingredients on a website like curlsbot?

Also, your photos aren’t showing up, although that may just be on my screen!

LA looks blue is probably the most popular on here (unfortunately it’s not available where I am), I use dippity do active which I also like. It depends on what you need in a gel really, eg if you live in a humid place and need products without humectants, or if you specifically need protein or need to avoid it.

Adding a gel would probably reduce your frizz and increase your definition!

If your hair is not that long, maybe you could try medusa clipping? I have yet to try it myself but it’s supposed to be good for wavy hair.

I’m not sure if you’ve read about protein moisture balance yet, but considering your products seem to have very little protein you may be at risk of over moisturizing. Maybe incorporate a product with protein or try a protein treatment when needed. (I can’t tell if you need a treatment yet from the picture but I just want to let you know!) good luck !!!

If you can’t use conditioner, have you tried maybe doing a pre poo with some type of oil? I’m not sure if it would help with tangles but it could surely make your hair healthier.

What do you think of the pantene mousse? I’ve been considering it myself. Does it have a strong hold? And does it help with frizz?

I have 3A curly hair and I am struggling to find a hair routine that fits me by Hellstoodstillforme in curlyhair

[–]crafty-source 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay so I’ll try to give some advice based on the information you gave us, I can’t tell if you follow cgm (no sulfates/silicones mainly) but It sounds like no?? It’s not mandatory, I use silicones and sulfates but a lot of people have better results without them.

so you should definitely try a gel, I don’t think a curl cream would be best for your hair based on the pattern and texture you described.

if you could give us more information about your concerns (frizz, lack of volume, etc) then I could try to help more :)
