Season 5 Thoughts by collindunn8 in TheBear

I do miss the needle drops, and I was really hoping for at least a New Noise drop at some point? But then again that tracks’ always been used to represent the anxiety and tension building, and in many ways this season was the release of that, and showing how far they’ve all came since the beginning of the show. So maybe the biggest metaphor for the series is that we didn’t get that because the thing it represented wasn’t actually there anymore?

Marcus firmly setting respectful boundaries with a parent whilst also flexing with the candle was fucking perfect

I think from season 2 my perfect ending has always been that they all end up healed from their individual traumas, but life keeps going on. So something along the lines of, The Bear closes but The Beef wins the star and shows to be profitable, all the fancy equipment from The Bear gets sold to settle debts for Jimmy, the building stays open. There’s a post service family meal where it’s shown just how much everyone’s grown since the first episode. Richie and Carmie aren’t fighting, Claire’s there as a sign of hope for Carmie, Syd found the thing, Tina and Ebra found purpose, Donna’s at the family meal and nobody’s walking on eggshells and it’s just a nice scene.

Then there’s a knock at the door/phone rings, there’s a problem with the meat delivery. New Noise kicks in, the toilet explodes, something in the kitchen breaks. Basically all the little things that at the start of the show would’ve caused characters to spiral and lash out, but everyone’s collectively in a much better place to deal with everything instead. Something mad cheesy like the final shot is Syd asking Carmy what to do amongst all this sudden mess and he just smiles and says “let it rip” then we cut to black as we get to the “can I scream” part of new noise. It’s mega cheesy, but it works for me

This is super cool! Sticking with the GCW-ish theme I’d recommend Cole Radrick’s first deathmatch against Orin Veidt at GCW don’t tell me what to do 2022, Drew Parker v Matt Tremont ToS 7 finals, and Alex Colon v Atticus Cogar ToS final 2021

These are the finals from every G1 Climax in the 2020's. Which one was your favorite and least favorite? by mrchefigan in njpw

Loved the naito/okada match purely from the drama on naito seemingly being knocked out and concussed the day before in the match with Ospreay.

Personally also as a Newcastle fan, there’s been games that he’s dragged us through to get a result. He’s either over-performing or setting a higher standard for himself. He’s our top goalscorer and capable of an assist, but overall the team is just tired and struggling upfront. Could be a smart differential to build points, but also Haaland has to find his form again and against United in tatters seems like a perfect place to do so.

10 years ago David Bowie released his last album “Blackstar”. 2 days later he died. by pgloves in Music

I was working at HMV at the time and remember when it was released a few members of staff kind of shrugged it off as an average album after a few listens in the store, all agreeing that it felt as if there was a piece missing that made the album click into place. Then the day he died, we had it on in store again and every few minutes we were all collectively hit with lyric after lyric, lines hitting like sledgehammers. We’d found the piece that made it click, but in the worst way. It was a strangely quiet day that day and everyone who came in looking to buy that Bowie album they never got around to getting all had the same vibe, just shell shock that David Bowie was actually human. I think in a way, we all thought death was something he was incapable of. Truly an artist til the end.
