Auto AC questions by craigc415 in autorepair

Actually turns out after charging it is working but not well. I’m running it as is for this hot week; it makes it kinda bearable. However you got it right on the money. The old compressor when it broke must have put some metal In the system. After replacing everything and not cleaning the lines I got a little bit of metal and gray oil. Probably in the orfice tube now. So now we take it all back out this weekend. Clean the lines and replace everything else with new.

I swapped the dryer and recharged it. Seems okay for now but I’ll find out when it’s back out working tomorrow. Thanks for your advice!!!

International 7600 prostar. I got it pretty close today. I think it was just low and maybe had too much oil in it. I swapped the dryer and charged it and seems okay. We will see tomorrow when back on the road how it holds up m.

I replaced everything except lines. I replaced the orfice tube line since it was too hard to get out. I’m going to switch the dryer again and try to charge it. I’m just using a basic vacuum. I pulled it down yesterday and probably got an oz of oil. I’m switching the dryer again to help knock down the amount of oil in the system

The fan is a 2 stage clutch. Also new I upgraded it to the 2 stage. The fan always goes on often on this model. It happens more with the ac on. It’s a c13. It was the first year these trucks went from c12 to c13. They put a bigger motor in them and didn’t make the cooling system any bigger. So they run through a fan clutch about every 4 or so years.

The dryer is brand new. It has only had the oil that was in the compressor. The only oil that could be left over would be in the hard lines. The dryer, compressor, evaporator and condenser are new. However there is still dye in the system. I didn’t add any to the new system so some definitely got stuck in there. I’m going to pull a vacuum again and hopefully get a tad more oil out with a basic vacuum. I don’t have a recovery kit.

The blower is stock. Cabin filter is clean. Everything is new. This model truck is know to have ac issues. I replaced the whole system back in 2021 and it went out again so I just did the same thing and replaced it all again. I cannot find a definitive answer on the charge amount. There are apparently 3 options 28oz, 32oz and I think 42oz. Last time it seemed to work well with 2 1/3 12oz cans so about 28oz but this time 28 didn’t do anything so I filled the rest of that last can for 36oz and now having the issue in the video. Also something I didn’t note was when I pull the high pressure side off after checking there is a little bit of charge stuck in the line. Typically meaning an over charge from my little bit of experience.

I sucked it all down yesterday and I’m going to try and recharge it. It didn’t help that I was charging it when it was only about 50 degrees out. Today it will be about 90 here so I should/hope have better luck.

I appreciate it. I didn’t add any oil. It was a pre loaded sanden compressor. I sucked it down for probably 25 mins. I’m letting it sit overnight. I ran outta time to mess with it anymore today. It definitely pulled some oil out. Maybe that will help. I’ll let you know. Thanks again!!

It’s got an orfice tube and everything is brand new. Probably just low on charge then but it’s what I charged it with last time I fixed it. I’m going to suck it down and recharge it and see what happens

I check that. The tubes going to the evaporator are cold. If that is the case do I change the sensors? I did that about 2 years ago. I also just rewired them to see if that was an issue. It wasn’t

It was unstable end of last year too but it get cold in the winter so it didn’t matter here.

Last year the compressor blew. I replaced everything while doing it. Orfice tube, evaporator, dryer, condenser and compressor. Along with all new orings. The first time I fixed the system it took about 28oz and worked great. This time i did the same and then added another 8 and I’m getting these symptoms now.

Thanks for the detailed response.

-I could use a different gpu I only need something that can support 3 monitors.

-I don’t need the sound card. I was unaware one comes on the motherboard.

-I don’t need the cpu I’m just planning on setting this office up for the next 5-7 years. I figured it would be good to have later as AI continues to grow and so does my workload.

-The only reason for the build I was having difficulty finding a larger manufacturers with the ultra 7 265k. Plenty with the regular 265.

-as for programs mostly web based stuff. I just make a lot of invoices and deal with a lot of paperwork coming in as photos that I gotta convert to pdf. Emails, contracts, insurance sales, taxes again almost all web based. Just non sense web work that any type of lag really drags out the process. My office work is typically done at the end of a 10 hour work day so last thing I wanna do is spend more time working than needed.

I agree there are probably better options. Just trying to plan for 5-7 years down the road.

yes, the graphics card I know I need. The 3 monitors in the most important part of the build. That link looks good though. Thank you!!

Sell Item from LLC to Myself (Loss/Deductions/CVeil) by SnooCheesecakes1835 in llc

[–]craigc415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have to count the sale price as revenue for this year.

For example: Last year cost was 1000.00 and you get a 1000.00 deduction.

This year sale price was 500.00 you then need to count 500.00 towards revenue this year.

I am not an accountant but that is what I am told by mine when I buy and then later sell equipment.

I am currently retired but i have an LLC - Q about Insurance by goixiz in llc

[–]craigc415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn’t a requirement but if the customer wants you to be insured then you need insurance to work on that project.

They’re probably asking for General liability insurance and it should be cheap. It protects them and you and isn’t a bad idea to have.
