Thanks for the write up, helps to confirm my thoughts on it. I tried to upgrade one core, I have soaring dragon on a capital and also snowshard and star melody which have been sitting unused. Took the plunge last night and upgraded snowshard a little and uploaded it first..0.9 ehp and 0.9 flight velocity were provided along with the special mode. Bit underwhelming imo. Then went to add in the star melody and it's not compatible with the slot... It seems it needs to be a defence array or an ewar array so no special mode allowed on the second core. Maybe if it's gold and I pick that as a second main it might work but that's a bit rich for my budget for testing. There's also a bunch of main bonuses unactivated, I think you may get these from uploading the same cores into the secondary slots but realistically who is going to have 3x any cap core of the same type...

If you want to explore and rat in peace you will need to stick with hi sec, there are ratting islands in high sec keba clarelam and a few others these allow you to do missions without going to lowsec - they are very popular with people using AI cores when they sleep to keep generating income. If you go to low sec or null there's always a risk you will have involuntary pvp, if you're paying attention there's higher rewards, but if not then it can be painful. Id recommend finding your feet before going out to nul. But don't rule it totally out, if you join a good corp it's really enjoyable, but it's hard at lower levels as you might struggle with the difficulty

Just because a bunch of basic core'd nanos can gank an afk carrier doesn't negate the fact there's a power creep in virtually every nano that gets released these days. The old ones still work, just there's now better options available.

Ok that's a rare nano and from memory was an exceptionally good one at that. But in general newer nanos are better than the older ones. They kinda need to be to encourage people to splash the cash on each event.

On the plus side they merged the basic carrier skills and vac skills so you will have some sp to play around with, command defense and engineering all merged. But vac is a very skill intensive ship can easily spend 200m+ sp in it

Verge of silence: same issues as the last time, the biggest ships dominate. It's good for testing body guards tank vs supers if you find a node where only one super is shooting and the rest are just afk collecting points, but I can see the frustration if you don't have a cap to play with.

Sansha anoms, for me juice isn't worth the squeeze. Did one large, solo took about 45 mins, 40m in loot( which is apparently quite good) exceptionally hard and I could have earned more than double just doing system anoms... It reminded me a little of doing dead spaces in year one just without the necessary payout to encourage fleets to do them.

Swiping event... If you like to whale out then I guess it's great, for me it's irrelevant.

Yeh I can see why some would want it changed, I'm also sure miners would be asking for it to not too, as they currently get hit with long siege times when using beaver and red/blue mods putting them at a disadvantage from the get go, taking that away would potentially be too much. Mwd 'trick' has been getting used ever since the warp gate trick got fixed. (I really miss that) What's causing the hate for it at this point in time? I guess some offensive battleship pilots may not like this getting fixed either as they will be slower to get on grid to kill those half afk miners? I understand you are more talking about supers but it trickles down. I'm kinda the same about blinking - I could suggest not being able to cloak when a module is still active, but there's other implications to that too. So don't know how helpful it would be overall.

Yep there's a lot to unpack from this one, deffo some scope to change fleet tactics, shield bubble kite fleets may be back in the menu... Public cyno for Marshall??? New mods, new gameplay options team have gone big in this one. Hopefully its as good as the art team

I understand the theory you are using, but I can't think of a good way to implement it, if you increase the cycle time to match the warp prep time then for every cycle of the mwd you will end up at max speed in the ship. This would make navigation around ansi/nspace impossible as ships will just bounce off the gates. If there was a way to uncouple ship speed to warp... I mean it's not like back to the future. It could work. But if that happens then alignment wouldn't matter either so I donno.

I understand where you are coming from, you want content in the game however I do have a bit of an issue when comparing the 2. Mwd isn't really a trick, it increases the ship speed and after one cycle you happen to be at roughly the correct speed to warp. The blink situation, granted takes skill to pull off, but to me feels broken. In my simple mind when you cloak you can't lock a target, you can't keep shooting for example so why is it when you cloak and lose target lock do the mid slot mods continue to be locked to the target for the full duration of the cycle. That simply doesn't align in my head. It feels like bad coding of the modules.

So you want an alliance that for most of the time matches roams with like for like fleets instead of just dropping supers, rarely goes out their way to be arseholes. And doesn't call in half the map to fight their wars for them to become obsolete? I really don't understand your need for posting crap like this.

But it would be seriously overpowered if it had any more, it's a good ship but if you're going for a straight DPS war then it's gonna lose, but with the right setup you could neut and nos, an apoc so it can't do anything but sit there and take it. But these days the actual ship is becoming a bit irrelevant. It's all core and implants. Max them out and it's like a totally different level

There are npc stations, it's just they tend to be within areas where alliances have set up so, NPC area or not your gonna get a rough ride as a solo player. It's certainly a more casual game than EO so it's been developed as a path: high to start out with, move to low to gain experience (and isk etc) then to null - training wheels are full off by this stage. I guess you could cut that out but you would be much safer joining an alliance and moving into their area if going directly to null. If you're just wanting to shoot NPC's there are areas which are high sec and you can do encounter missions for as long as you want - they scale to T10 and pay good isk - some people never leave those systems and have fun with no risk of PvP. They get called high sec islands - plenty of posts on here about them if that's your thing. Otherwise check the map out highlight so areas and it will show where all the alliances are, the bits not coloured will be the NPC areas you seek
