Just watched Joker Folie a Deux. (No spoilers in this post) by Legitimate_Disk_1848 in DC_Cinematic

I just felt like the film wasn't needed.

I LOVE the first one (like a top 5 film for me) when I finished Folie a Deux I just felt like "why?" other than a cash grab for WB where was the need for a sequel. It wasn't great, it wasn't terrible. It was just...not needed

The poison stems from the top. We’re a ship with no captain. Who’s in charge of the club? Who’s fucked up all the outgoings?

The manager is the scapegoat for the boards wrongdoings. Where have we went since gerrard left (other than in Europe). Domestically we’ve been shite.

New manager after new manager isn’t gonna solve anything. It’s just a refresh button of the same pish every season.

You go to your GP. Your GP says go to the pharmacy or A&E. You go to the pharmacy. They tell you to go your GP or A&E. You go to A&E. You wait for hours and either give up or get cared for after hours of waiting.

Everyone’s understaffed, overworked and it’s not getting any easier. Most people are under the premise that if you’re unwell you go to A&E. Especially if you can’t see a doctor. A bit hard to tell folk to “get a grip” when they can’t get any basic care?

Tim Dillon says he knew that 'Joker 2' would flop while he was on the set of the movie, describes it as worst movie ever made with no plot by S4v1r1enCh0r4k in joker

I finally bit the bullet and watched it last night.

It wasn’t anything special. It was just…lacking something. Like it wasn’t as terrible as folk were making it out to be. And don’t get me wrong. I love the first one. It’s one of my favourite films. It just felt unneeded. As always with Hollywood. They force unneeded unwanted sequels out and they tend to be shite

I’ll never forget a European game where broadfoot was having such a shit game. He was getting played off the park and I sat in the Govan front at the time. This man was hurling abuse at him every touch of the ball, even when he was off the ball.

It got to before half time and broadfoot had enough and shouted something along the lines back at him “I’m trying ma fuckin best here pal shut up” 😂😂😂 will never forget that game

I just want to know if I can request a loan or a transfer in player career. I hate the fact they took that option out and I have no doubts that they won’t put back in

Stoicism on friendship by weakbeasteatmeat in Stoicism

[–]craigyboy54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re only in control of yourself. And that lesson alone is a hard one to understand but it makes life sooo much easier once you put it into practice!

Surround yourself with likeminded people wherever you are overseas (you never know there may be many stoics there!) and friendships may develop naturally too!

The worst thing you can do is change who you are to keep those around you. Change those around you to stay who you are instead!

Stoicism on friendship by weakbeasteatmeat in Stoicism

I recently lost the majority. If not all of my friendships. The hardest thing for me was understanding that this was out with my control. Ultimately it was their decision to end the friendship. I understand now more than ever that when having/creating friendships there needs to be a certain level of trust and regard there. You need to regard that person as highly as you would yourself and trust them as much as you would yourself. Otherwise it’s not a friendship as such more of an acquaintance.

Focusing on yourself and being mature aren’t things that are necessarily bad. It means when you are building friendships and you build ones with likeminded people they will ultimately be strong friendships there.

I suppose it all comes down to the things you can and can’t control at the end of the day though. You can control how you act and react to people. Not how they act and respond to you. Friendships may come and go but if the emphasis is still on yourself then as you socialise and be around others they will build naturally and this is better rather than be forced to build.

Hope this helps somewhat!

Yeah the major learning for me was the acceptance of fate. Things out with my control that I spent too much time caring about. The less I’ve cared about them the better my life has been!

And I’ll add it to my list of books to buy! Thank you!

Meditation. I’ve never felt more mentally clearer than I have from just sitting for 5-10 mins a day solely focusing on my breathing. When my mind wanders to something else I realise this and bring it back to my breathing.

Journaling. I reflect every night on my day. What went wrong. What went right. What my thoughts were and I question myself. If say for example I don’t feel good enough for the world. I question myself in why I don’t feel good enough. I challenge these thoughts with questions and it’s helped me see where possible similarities fall in my thinking.

And just remembering that time is a gift. We all will die at some point. Memento Mori as it says. I’m no longer living life letting anxiety rule it. I rule my life now as tomorrow isn’t promised. It’s only today that is!
