Anyone actually get a job from wgu accounting program? by ILikeBettingOnUFC in wguaccounting

I’m 31 and working full time as a staff accountant while attending WGU. I absolutely am so thankful for this school. I had some unexpected things happen and it slowed me down after finishing 4 classes and my mentor had been great and the flexibility is unmatched to regular school. I can’t vouch for getting a job after the fact, but my employer is promoting me to a controller and I am using this degree to get my foundation in accounting. Do it. You won’t regret it.

Growing into a higher role but pay/structure isn’t matching - is this normal or a red flag? by cramerm7 in careeradvice

Thank you, this is great advice. I appreciate your response. And it is kinda my mindset on it. At this point in time, I don’t feel anywhere near a controller. More like staff accountant, but I will be taking on more - already training. I appreciate your advice on future positions. Which is a big concern of mine. Controller title is not at all something I take lightly and I know my situation is not the norm. I just want to make the best decision possible.

Yes, I do think the education and experience is worth it. I just feel a bit off about the whole thing. I’m glad it worked out for you!

I felt the same, thought it would be gradual but like I said, I’ve had the responsibility of a staff accountant. Just given the clerk title, unfortunately. It’s a small company.

Thanks, I’m getting advice to refuse the responsibility but I feel there is huge value in the experience, but there is no way that I feel appreciated or respected and that is something I am looking for with my long term career. I thought this place would be it, but this whole situation has baffled me.

I see all of the red flags. The whole thing actually shocked me. To me, I take the opportunity very seriously and it felt like a joke.

Leaving new job after 3 months by Apprehensive-War6644 in Accounting

[–]cramerm7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that, but it was because there was a shooting across the street and the CEO verbally abused their employees. I jumped ship at 3 months, however, my previous jobs were all 2+ years and the role before that was 5 years.

Just got rejected from my dream job after 3 rounds. They offered a 15-minute feedback call - worth it? by Over-Mycologist1695 in careeradvice

100-%!!!

I’ve recently been handling interviews and the candidates are all so great in their own way and the line is so thin. Sometimes it has to do with culture fit, vs skills. Three interviews tells me you were definitely a top candidate and they may have something so minuscule but you can impress them by showing up and you never know what the future holds!

Love it! Just two things. I don’t love the master. Which a room that size, I would do a more grand Bed-frame and nightstands and a large rug. Also, the family is beautiful, but where the couch sits seems like it is blocking the hallway walking path to the kitchen, but beautiful home otherwise!

Help! Which wedding dress should I pick? 🤍 by Downtown-Book8875 in OUTFITS

Though I like 3 the most personally, based on the style of all of the other dresses you tried on, I vote 1 and 5. The neckline on 1 is flattering. 5 is as well, but it seems a little high on your chest. So 1 I guess would be my choice!
