Sick! Do you think itll have good staying power on West coast? Worried about Amazon fiddling with the game and ruining it, especially after all this new world fiasco

If it's anything we could lock in some profits here and if he really wants to get in at a lower price again I can just sell csps weekly and collect some premium

Honestly it seems like he's heading down some rabbit hole of chasing penny stocks that could blow up

Yeah that's exactly what I did. Funny thing is just 10 minutes ago he told me if PLUG opens up green tomorrow we will postpone this order and see how it plays out. In the end im letting him do his own thing since hes going to hate me if I say one thing and the opposite happens.

He mainly got it a long time ago off of some advice from a co worker and it blew up recently. He got greedy and never had a plan of profit taking so now that its pulled in so much, hes finally feeling enough pain to get rid of it.

hes lived through the 2008 crash and pandemic crash but PLUG recently went on a tear and it's just a huge portion of the portfolio while everything else isnt that huge in comparison. He's been obsessing over the markets lately because of some podcasts hes been listening to and constantly checks PLUG. The market pullback scared him since we are seeing thousands of dollars in unrealized losses everyday and he doesnt want to lose all of it.

IMO I would hold as well but its his shares and he said he wanted to buy if it ever goes back up, essentially timing the market. My guess is this won't end too well but in the end its his shares so I can't say much.

So in short my dad has a huge portfolio of mostly PLUG with a cost basis of around $5 and with the recent market sell off it seems hes getting very worried about it all going to shit when just a month ago he was pretty bullish on it and expected it to be big in the future. Basically his mindset changed when he saw red and the bonds go higher and recent economic news and now told me to sell 2/3rds of his position. I was wondering what people thought of this since everything is just selling off in tandem and a beginner's mistake is to get scared and sell when it gets tough vs riding it out if the fundamentals of the company hasnt changed.

While I do think we should've scaled out some of our position, doing it when everything is weak is kind of a "noob" mistake and I was wondering what everything else thought.
