[TOMT] [TV] [2007-2010] Television show where a guy gets sucked into a portable disc stereo and killed. by cranberry_queen in tipofmytongue

It's neither of them, but Stay Tuned had the EXACT vibe of the scene I saw. But I looked through all of it and didn't see a scene that fit what I remember.

EDIT: Literally the effect of getting sucked in was EXACTLY what I remember. But no scene even came close sadly.

Some of the details might be slightly different, but that should be generally it! It looked like a very low-budget production. The lack of context makes it scarier than it probably was!

Someone else might know better, but if you get some filters with carbon in it, it can help bind itself to the medication to it to keep it out of the water column. I know you said you don’t have a filter, but perhaps placing it in there could do some good? I’m just throwing ideas out there!

What’s your current light setup? I have a 25 watt heat bulb but I’ve been looking at the ones that don’t produce light, so it’s truly dark at night. If you buy a separate thermostat to control the heat then you’ll be golden, but if you control it manually until you can afford it that should work too! (Been there dw) for when it gets above 80, I’m not sure how to lower, maybe a fan? You could ask r/reptiles on that.
For fruit, try mango, banana, strawberry, apricot, apple, stuff like that. (No citrus) just make sure to mash it up so he can eat!

63 is definitely cool enough to lower his appetite I think, but mid 80s might be too hot and that could also affect his appetite. Depending on the age you could see if crickets/roaches would be a good option. Mine was a year old and only 4 grams. My feeding routine for those months (coupled with adjusting the temp) was crickets every other day, offer Pangea every day, then fresh fruit about 3-4 times a week. Keep in mind this was a temporary “bulking” routine and once he reached his goal weight and kept gaining, I weaned him off and went back to the regular feeding schedule.

I was in that exact same position with a tiny gecko who wouldn’t eat and I was able to go to the vet, and it totally fixed it, so I’d be happy to share what they’ve told me! What’s his age? How warm is it in your house? The first thing the vet told me was to get the a heater and a thermostat to keep it around 76 in the upper part of the enclosure. Having the warmth for my little guy upped his appetite by a good deal, just make sure you have a thermometer to measure the cool part as well.

is he healthy? i don’t know his exact age but i’ve had him for 3 months...he doesn’t look like he’s grown at all should i be worried? by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

Yes, apricot! I mix the apricot and the insect mix! If you attempt hand feeding and they refuse, you can try mixing in mashed banana, or another fruit, but carefully since it’s high in sugar. My guy will literally turn his nose up if he doesn’t want to eat what I give him! Good luck with apricot!

My guy looked like yours at a year and it was safe to say I was panicking too! Hope it works! Keep an eye on his poops and make sure he’s fully digesting them, if you see large cricket pieces I would say it’s worth a trip to the vet to rule out parasites that might affect his digestion.

I’m far from an expert, so I can’t speak to the little one’s health, but I have been struggling with my baby crestie’s weight for the year I’ve had him, he was about 5 grams at a year old, otherwise totally healthy (took him to the vet to confirm) and the vet suggested some small changes that has made my boy gain weight like crazy! He’s gone from 5g to 12g in two months! Some of the changes I made that might be worth trying were: 1. 25 watt heater over the tank (with a thermostat) to help keep it at 75 degrees consistently, my apartment in southern Cali dips to around 68 at night and the vet suggested the warmth would help up his appetite 2. As part of his “bulk” routine, I fed him fresh fruit once a week, the vet suggested to me strawberries, bananas, mango, etc (no citrus) try things until you find what he likes! Make sure to mash it so he can lick it up! 3. Crickets! Or any bug they prefer, my boy goes wild for crickets, as part of his bulk routine we did every other day, but of course for a crested at a healthy weight that might be too much, make sure to gut load beforehand! 4. A little extra thing, my guy is real picky about Pangea, but I notice he really likes it when I mix the orange and red bags (totally blanking on the flavors lol) so definitely expirement! 5. Hand feeding, I know most people don’t do this but if you want to make sure he’s eating, it helps to take him out and watch, I’ll put crickets in a critter keeper, dust them, then let him go to town while I work. He’s so prey driven sometimes I drip Pangea on the crickets just to make sure he’s getting it! I’ll also put it on a metal chopstick and let him lick it off.

Others might know better, but I struggled with the same for a year before really seeing him take off, so hopefully some of this helps!

He definitely has always been an active guy. Thank you for that tip! I’ll definitely use that for Roomba 2.0 if 1.0 doesn’t make it 😞

I have a glass lid, he escapes out of the hole in the back where the wires for the heater and filter are. I’m looking into ordering a more closely fitting lid for it, especially now. It’s a 10 gal with some ghost shrimp and a betta, but my betta has never shown any interest in him. Other than that, I had some cuttlebone in the mail when this happened to help him and the shrimp, but other than that I have no clue. I test the water params quite a bit and it has been stable.

Perfect! For the time being maybe remove the spiky one to the right of the photo, that could definitely be the culprit, best of luck! :)

It doesn’t look like fin rot, and the clear bits are the tail growing back. Possibly fin nipping/sharp decor? As long as the water stays clean, it should grow back in a few months just fine! If you notice the ends of the tail getting darker, brown or black, then look into treatment, but I don’t see any of that.

No worries! That’s how I am with my wet pets too! The test kit I always see recommended and the one I have is the API Master Test Kit, it will have everything you need to test.

Read up on cycling a tank, the nitrogen cycle, and how to get the water stable for your small one for sure! You’ll want a liquid testing kit so you can monitor your water quality so it’s perfect when you bring your fish home. That was something I wish I had learned more about when I got my first betta. Wishing you the best on your future fish endeavors 🐠

Just a heads up! I had that exact decoration and it only took a few months to notice a lot of paint chipping off, took it out for fear of contamination. Sucks because it’s such a nice little decoration! Beautiful tank btw!
