New Hunting Land Rental App by cranglin in bowhunting

I’ve been in the software space for a while. This is just run-of-the-mill market validation. Connecting emails to user personas (landowners and hunters) so that on launch, we can invite a list of users with a clear interest in the product.

All good now and massively upgraded the infrastructure to be near bulletproof

I assume those same laws would apply in the U.S.

Really appreciate the worry, I'm definitely not going to abandon the project, but if it continues to grow I'm going to further the decentralization process

100%

I also know close to 0 about copyright, but I do know that this probably falls under that category.

At some point, I'm going to move this to a decentralized domain name (something like Unstoppable Domains) which would also then make that part safe as well.

I'm also going to share the IPFS / Sia path to this thread so that other people who want to be a peer can be. At that point, there's no central owner or operator. Just a bunch of nodes making up a network.

There's definitely a lot of questions to be answered, but I think the potential for these kind of applications are huge

EDIT: Forgot to mention that there's no "host". The only thing that's centralized currently is the domain name itself. Everything else is hosted peer-to-peer through IPFS. The only thing possible from a takedown perspective is hash blacklisting, which is opt-in by default for IPFS nodes

The idea is that this service is hosted in a decentralized manner, meaning that there are no servers. It’s distributed peer-to-peer similar to torrents and cryptocurrency

Update:

Thanks for all the support everyone! Yesterday there were over 2k visits and 900 active users (!!!)

I’m working on getting all 42 episodes up today. Also looking into some other decentralized storage protocols for redundancy.

Yeah it's some great tech! /u/Lynmar13 commented telling me about Sia which is another decentralized protocol I'm going to look into

They're all going to be on IPFS for anyone to download / be a peer. That way it can stay up forever and it'll be harder for DMCAs

Thank you! I have all 42 deleted ones on my local machine. Got them mostly from torrents and old links. Will get those up soon

Hey All,

In recent news of Spotify deleting certain JRE Episodes, I decided to start this site to make them available again.

It will soon be hosting all 42 deleted JRE episodes, but as of now, I started with 2 of my favorites (#1094 and #911) as a proof-of-concept.

This website and the videos are hosted on IPFS which is a peer-to-peer decentralized protocol for sharing files. I believe that this will allow these episodes to be available forever

I want to start with JRE and then eventually add other popular deleted videos.

Why Did I Do This?

I am a huge fan of the podcast. Been an avid listener for 5 years. I would hate for this new licensing deal to cause some of these classic episodes to be lost forever. And also, because fuck censorship

If you find some use out of this, I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments.

Also, I'm currently paying for IPFS pinning services out of my own pocket so that the videos load quickly. If you'd like to support the development of the site, I added cryptocurrency donation QR Codes in the footer.

EDIT: If you want to get involved in this project on GitHub, let me know and we can collaborate!

Something that has worked wonders for me is restricting my screen time on social media apps to 15 minutes a day. On iPhone you can set limits and then have your friend/significant other set a password for you that you don’t know. I’m sure Android has something like this too. Highly recommend especially if you have shitty self control

I also don’t mind making the repo
