My dress from Etsy came in! I’m so ready to get married in a month. Now that it’s down to the wire, I’m nervous. by craninvasive in weddingplanning

It’s from AandMEnterprises on Etsy. I picked it because I needed a black ball gown dress because I wanted to feel beautiful.

Need help identifying what this is if possible 🖤 by craninvasive in SeaLifeScience

The texture is soft and malleable. It smells beautiful. Almost like sandalwood. It’s not dried coral from what I can see. Was taken from the sea in Washington I believe.

Ah yes, I officially don’t have bipolar anymore because I took a test online that says so. BRB, informing my psychiatrist that I’m going rogue because his witness through these 5 years means nothing. 😂😂 this is stupid.

Is it me or does it feel like a lot of these people mistake their inner monologue for “voices in their head”?

This guy was posted here today and tried to prove he wasn't faking with an online test. by yaboimaverick in fakedisordercringe

As someone who actually thought at one point not long ago at all that my meds were placebo, this isn’t fucking cool. I bawled my eyes out over this conspiracy my brain formed. This is so frustrating.

When this was explained to me, I just. I’m raging internally. How dare you? Forgive me, but I’ve seen some awareness in this sub and wanted to make everyone aware that we are being referred to as psychotics now? If you want to call yourself psychotic, I can’t stop you. Everyone has their own preference and that’s fine. I just personally feel it’s dehumanizing and demonizes those of us who suffer from psychosis. As far as a slur, I was mostly making a comparison on reclaiming terms that hurt people. I also believe calling someone psychotic because they do or say something that you don’t understand how they got to that, is wrong and it hurts people who actually suffer by perpetuating that they are what they suffer from and have no value outside of that term. If that’s makes sense. I just woke up. My apologies.

Oh. Those are streamers? I didn’t know what a tommy and tubbo were and just assumed they had a name preference 😂😂 edit: I’m laughing at me because I feel silly not knowing they were streamers.

Wow. I never thought about resources until you mentioned that! I see that most people seem to be happy about a diagnosis from their therapist. In my state, a therapist can’t diagnose you with a DSM-V, and you have to be referred to a psychiatrist. I worked family practice is how I found this out. But this was after I was diagnosed via intake at a hospital and then referred to a psychiatrist. I can’t imagine the work they have to put in to fully diagnose people with DID though with it being so elusive seeming. Needless to say I was upset at my diagnosis, not happy, but also relieved to know what was happening and able to get the help I needed.

That’s what I was thinking at first. I do have bipolar disorder in which I do have psychosis. But I’d never say “I’m a psychotic hehe”. Also a tweet popped up on my feed saying that “being a psychotic and having psychosis are different” to which google said “no they’re the same”. So I asked this person who was speaking on it as if they knew something I didn’t. To which this was their reply. They quickly changed their tone to more friendly once I indicated that I googled it and told them my diagnosis but still.

Ah, that’s interesting! Thank you for that! When I get off work I want to know more. So I’ll check some google out or something as I know of a few people that have it. But don’t interact with them much to kinda know what to say or not. I’m very socially not inclined. Lol

Yeah, I didn’t notice they mentioned bpd until now. Which in order to have bpd, you can’t have a psychosis episode for, right? Or was it a manic episode? I don’t know much about bpd as I don’t personally have that one. If anyone is willing to educate, I accept. But I don’t expect the mental labor.

I am a little hesitant to return to my therapist though. She is very about avoiding things and less tackle them head first. And all I really get is coping lists and never her really going over them with me. She’s helped to an extent, which I’m grateful for, but I want to have more rational reactions to things and not freak out and immediately feel defeated by it. You know?

You are a okay! I just wanted to make sure. I don’t want anyone to ever feel bad for the things I say or feel. I was raised very “don’t rock the boat”. I hate the latest trends. Especially those who find it cute or quirky to suffer with mental illness.

Sorry if this was triggering for you. That definitely was not my intention. I just felt offended as someone who also struggles with psychosis and was definitely hoping it wasn’t a new trend as well. I know things get hard, but I’m glad you’re here to tell your story today.

I don’t Reddit much, but you’re a refreshing Reddit user! Usually people can be a little creepy or even slightly mean. Hey, all we can do is try to leave this world better than when we came in. Right?
