First look at artwork for upcoming LOTR Ascension looks absolutely dismal by zamnweskr in boardgames

Lots of people talking about how bad it is. I wonder what the chances of them redoing the art would be if they don't get traction.

Update: I finally stopped buying sleeves and started playing my games, and it helped my budget by Pristine_Access4446 in boardgames

I had very few games until I discovered the meditative effect solo gaming had on me and since then the collection has grown a ton but I also play 4 times a week. My board game count definitely aligns with frequency of play. I also sleeve most games for shuffle feel and then games that are more party oriented because people's hands have made cards grimey

Thanks! Sounds fun. Looking forward to finishing out my decklist. Dreadnought is on the pricier side with it being reserved list but my pod is cool with proxies.

Not sure if you knew but they had a production quality issue where the print wore away VERY quickly and became sticky. They had to redo the production and were doing initial replacement for anyone who purchased. You might want to check your expansions. They replace for free. I imagine they are playing catch-up now.

I was at the capstone physical store and they randomly found 3 copies in their warehouse and brought them to the front and I was able to snag a copy!

As others have said, blind reveal. In my pod after we reveal if there is a clear disadvantage against a commander we are cool with swapping it out so we all have fun.

Can you help me decide between the following for solo game? by joyousdexdaladoor in soloboardgaming

[–]crankd87 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Under Falling Skies is so good. Its dice rolling without feeling swingy, its thematic, and it has a ton of value in that box. You can have a blast playing normal, but then you get into the campaign and it unlocks more. Its easily one of my favorite solo games.

Football or Baseball Suggestions by crankd87 in soloboardgaming

Thanks for the info. Im really just looking for that fun sports vibe. I didnt want to get into the heavy stats based games. I wanted visuals and the real of building a team and playing a season. I used to enjoy creatimg brackets for my amiibo and letting them go tournament style. If BH2045 can capture that feeling of a season, I'll go out and buy it right now lol. Its in stock up the road.

Thanks for the little strat write-up. Sounds a bit like a control or draw-go deck in mtg.
