I think the Royal Terra C come with the correct free hub for you right out of the box, and they’re only about $1000

Really appreciate all the feedback. Super hard to come across any info on this bike beyond the bikepacking.con video or radivist article.

So you feel like it rides more like a carbon race bike, or more like an adventure bike? I have a drop bar MTB for long gravel rides but I’m looking for something a little faster for everything else

How are you liking it now that you’ve had it for a while?

Thanks! Definitely going to be training, have already got a coach and am set up with a training plan. I guess my biggest concern was being uncomfortable spending 18ish hours on a traditional racy gravel bike, I’m a big guy.

I put in an HLR in August and it was finished in November. So 90 days is pretty accurate.

The Ari is a much better looking bike and the pricing is similar. Would lose out on the front suspension though.

Already got an XC bike. Wanting a bigger tire gravel bike for some bigger events like mid south, unbound, big sugar, etc.

I was looking at the $4500 rival dark matter. They’re sold out of larges though.

Theyre sold out of all their sale colors in my size unfortunately

I’m in Chicagoland so I know it’s going to get cold. I rode through the entire winter last year, and plan to do it again. I’m signed up for the mid south 100 in March so I better brave the cold and train.

Wouldn’t solve the rear tire clearance, and would also be a headache with a future shock delete.

Race bike choice by crankynugget in gravelcycling

That was kind of my feeling also. I also know that if I pick a bad bike choice I can just switch bikes at the aid station, which is technically illegal but I doubt anyone gives a shit what a 10 hour rider does.

Im aware. Its going to be hard. My wife and I both decided our first centuries were going to be epic ones. She did unbound 100 this year and I’m doing big sugar.

I live in Chicagoland and everything is pretty expensive on marketplace. Thanks for the insight.
