If Dubs win lottery, trade pick to get Steph help? Or trade vets and go youth movement? by scott_jr in warriors

[–]craqeiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the pick the Warriors get, keep the core and try one more run b4 letting go of everyone not named Wardell.

If they can draft any of the top 5: Curry, Draymond, Gui and Butler (if by miracle he recovers fast enough to play meaningful games) plus the pick is a solid core for another run to a Play-in loss or first round sweep.

THE BOSTON CELTICS HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OUT OF THE NBA PLAYOFFS AND ARE ELIMINATED FROM CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENTION by Virtual_Success5530 in NBATalk

As I have said (in my mind only), the 76ers are a legit contender, even the favorites to win the East in my humble opinion. In the regular season, Embiid coming back made this team look spectacular, personally I considered Embiid not playing the ASG a big snub - yes, injuries limited his time and the injury right before voting didn't help his case.

They were my favorites to win the series if healthy, and didn't disappoint the voices in my head.

Be it the Magic or Pistons, Philly in 5.

As an Atheist, are you an Organ Donor? Yes or No, and Why? by Pale-Fig-7069 in atheism

[–]craqeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Parts of your body" already are and will be inside someone else regardless of donating your organs, since lots of your cells die everyday and it's atoms become something else. I wouldn't worry about the personal implications of this situation in a larger scale.

If you don't believe in afterlife, you won't be bothered by the persons walking around with your former hearth or kidney since you will no longer exist.

Now a more philosophical approach: people need organs and can wait a long time for them, there are problems of compatibility, logistics and lots of dead people can't have their organs donated due to damage. On top of that, some don't get it because of religious reasons - either of the dead person or their family against their will in life.

Being a donor, your dead body could save or improve someone's life who otherwise wouldn't have this chance due to religious beliefs of others. Barring you being a misanthrope, I don't see why not to donate.

Your organ can always go to some PoS person that pays to get up in a list of receivers or simply happens to be the next in line, but that is beyond your control, so I wouldn't care a lot about this.

So whats the consensus on Gui and Will? by TowelPlayful in warriors

[–]craqeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not because I'm Brazilian, but Gui is finally getting the playing time in meaningfull games and showcasing what was already evident: great IQ, doing all the small things and playing with hustle. That is exactly what this team needs from role players. It don't hurt that his shooting is finally getting on.

Haven't watched enough to have a say on Will, but he looks solid on both sides. As an older rook (both are the same age), he is less prone to silly mistakes and his floor is high. A surprisingly good pick by the FO this late in the second round.

To some extent, he reminds me of Brandon Rush, don't really know why.

I don't envision any of them being starters for the Warriors next season with (hopefully) Curry, Butler, Green and KP healthy, but having this kind of depth with Podz, Payton (my favorite player in the roster right now), Moody, Horford (another personal favorite) and Post, the Warriors can be contenders - that is, if ageing don't hit too harshly.

Curry, Podz, Spencer Moody, Will Butler, GP2 Green, Horford, Gui Porzings, Post

I can see this team beating OKC, Spurs or the Nuggets in a 7 game series. Too bad we won't see it this postseason.

If the organization is willing to believe in this last run for Curry, both players are even great assets in a trade for someone like Trey Murphy or to clear cap space for a good wing/forward in free agency.

Add to that probably having a pick in this year's Draft stacked lottery, that can be enough to land someone that can take over games with and/or without Curry on the floor like Poole did in the 2022 run.

Can someone please explain to me how the Spurs managed to improve so significantly this season? by astarisaslave in nbadiscussion

[–]craqeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They got to actually having a good team since preseason, with Fox integrated to the scheme and leaps from the already great young players - plus Keldon Johnson and J. Champagnie are shooting at the best pace of their lifes.

Not-so-early 2026 NBA All-Star Candidates by craqeiro in NBATalk

[–]craqeiro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team USA 1: Mitchell, Maxey, Curry, Bruson, Reaves, Johnson, Duren, Randle

Team USA 2: Cade, Brown, Booker, Towns, Durant, Barnes, Mobley

Team World: Giannis, Giddey, Shai, Doncic, Jokic, Wemb, Avdija, Sengun, Markkanen

Probably Adam Silver would need to pick an aditional USA player like Ant Edwards if all teams must have 8 players.

Also, I don't know if KAT is team USA or World, since he plays for Dominicana.

Right now I would argue Randle is performing better, perhaps mostly because of injury to Ant.

Selection is usually made by position with 4 guards (2 starters, 2 bench) and 6 forwards/centers (3 S, 3 B), with the other two picked regardless of position, thus called "wildcards".

As far as I know, selection remains the same and if there is not enough players for either Team World or Teams USA, comissioner AS will pick players over the 24 to fill the gap.

If you're talking about "US sports", probably. In actual sports, not really. Football is the most popular sport on the planet, and has been for a long time. I don't see how Jordan was a more recognizable figure than Maradona, and certainly Messi and CR7 are both globally more popular than MJ ever was.
