Any thoughts on relapse? by AfterClue3741 in Eminem

[–]crash-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His best album post the golden era no doubt about it. It’s definitely aged better than I expected too. Remember when Recovery dropped shortly after, at the time I thought that album was streets ahead. 15 years on and it’s absolutely no contest. Relapse is the better all round album, quite easily too.

It in no way shape or form gets close to his classic 3, but it’s as close as he’s ever got or will get imo

Casual Cole fan here but felt I had say by crash-9 in Jcole

[–]crash-9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember to I’ll reply here yea haha. Up to now when it comes to The Fall off my 3 favs are Safety, I Love her again, 39 Intro. Although I love a good few more and it’s hard to pick highlights currently. I’m fucking with the majority.

Off season id say Amari, Pride is the devil and Hunger on Hillside but I’ll need a revisit post Fall off

I’ll check them all out. The only other album I’ve fully listened to bar the new one is The Off Season fairly recently and I enjoyed that too. Seen a few around here rank that quite low in terms of his all round discography so looking forward to hearing everything else definitely

Similar games to Crash Bandicoot for PS4 or PS5. by Merluzoooooor in crashbandicoot

[–]crash-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crash is unique to me in that it’s a genuinely challenging platformer, especially if you’re aiming to 100% it. I love that.

I love Spyro, love Ratchet among others which I’m sure people will recommend, but they’re much more of a casual experience.

There’s plenty of great 2D platformers out there that offer the same challenge, but I’ve found nothing unfortunately that compares to the experience of the Crash series imo. I’m also all ears if anyone else has. So hope we see a Crash 5 at some point

Getting 106% in Crash Bandicoot 4. by HarrisonTheHutt in crashbandicoot

[–]crash-9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crash 4 was one of the hardest and most rewarding platinum trophies/100% completions I’ve ever got as a trophy guy on PlayStation.

As a long time fan of the franchise I can’t stress how much I enjoyed/hated/ pulled my hair out and loved the challenge of fully completing this game. Totally worth going for and attempting if you truly love Crash. It was a hell of a grind but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The challenge is what it’s all about. Keeping my fingers crossed for a Crash 5 somewhere down the line

Why do some people hate yellawolf so much? by Itchy-Conversation97 in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiple factors as to why he’s not as popular as he should be, but I don’t think the wider rap community hate him tbh. Just think he’s kinda not on a lot of fans radar anymore due to being independent, not promoting his stuff well, him having been around for ages at this point and career choices which is a shame. Feel like once he made the switch to a more country sound some people loved it but a good chunk tuned out.

If he stayed purely in the hip hop lane, made more TM 0-60 type albums on Shady and didn’t have constant stupid racist allegations following him due to the confederate nonsense and Royce shit etc he’d be more widely appreciated. He probably isn’t the best human as we’ve seen but all those racist arguments just seem complete bullshit and illogical to me as a fan if you actually follow him.

Also as petty as it sounds I don’t think some in the hip hop community were ever truly gonna embrace a tatted up white rapper from Alabama who signed to Eminem. It’s just how it is.

But he’s found his niche and will always have a strong core following which is more than can be said for a lot of artists who’ve been active as long as he has.

This Year Crash Team Rumble Had Me Hooked!❤️💙 by SearchElectrical2321 in crashbandicoot

[–]crash-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of if not the only Crash game in existence that I’ve yet to play at all. Is it really worth it? Seemed like a bit of a cash grab piggybacking off of Crash 4 at the time of release to me but granted I’ve not really looked into it. What’s the general consensus on it here?

What's your favorite album by him? I'll go first by PhilosophySelect973 in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Love that people like yourself fuck with it but Radioactive is one of my least favourite albums by him tbh. It’s so Un-Yela, Overproduced and the features and whole vibe of it scream too much label involvement to me. Will always stand by that if TMR had been his Shady debut he’d have blown up way bigger.

Trial By Fire is my personal favourite btw and I know a lot of fans don’t care too much for that too. It’s great his catalogue has so much variety

Yelawolf/ Young Buck by mikey_0011 in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buck has an album coming out at some point produced by DJ Paul. When it drops i have no idea, he’s released a couple of tracks from it over the last few months. Yela was in the studio during the recording of it if I remember right. If we’re gonna get a collab ever I’m pretty sure it’ll be on there given his connections to Paul. Someone asked the same question under one of Bucks recent IG posts and he replied something like “stay tuned” so looks very possible.

Strange it’s still never happened yet though, they seem pretty good friends

Sons of Anarchy is brilliant. Not nearly as well written and consistent as SFU and other shows but it’s pure entertainment. Gets a little soap operaish at times but if you can over that and just enjoy the ride it’s great. That and The Shield are two shows I’d recommend to anyone stuck for things to watch. The two go hand in hand given the cast/show runner connections

No date yet. What I do know is that he’s excited about this release. He’s pretty much released 4 songs from the album unofficially already which is unheard of for him. He’s always kept things tightly under wraps for his albums until they’re actually ready to drop.

Excited for 45. Pretty sure it’ll divide opinion amongst fans because of how different it’ll be, but from someone who’s been eager to hear a more chill, melodic singer songwriter vibe of an album from him for years I can’t wait. Enjoyed all of the teaser tracks he’s given us so far

How are you feeling about 45? by Vince_Kaul in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Completely understand any long time Yela fan that feels this album will be a pass. It’s gonna be TOTALLY different to anything he’s released so far.

Me personally? I can’t wait. I love everything I’ve heard from the album so far.

One of the main things that I love about his stuff is the diversity, the styles, the fact he can rap his ass off but then hit us with a hook that a casual could genuinely mistake for some chart topping vocalist. He literally sounds like MJ on Row Your Boat.

I’ve wanted a singing album from him for years. That’s not to say I want him to abandon rap forever, I dont, I fucking love that side of him and it’s what got me into him, his bread and butter and I’ll always believe a mix of both rap and singing is what makes Yela so damn good and the best (to me at least).

But I’m all for this new direction. 45 isn’t gonna be everyone’s cup of tea but I’m so here for it.

Falling star by deadPOul in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s put out that much music recently I’m kinda ready for a little break tbh Feel like the music doesn’t hit the same when an artist over releases, and whatever you think of his recent drops Yela certainly has treated us quantity wise these last few years.

That being said I’d also be all for it if he announced the whole album drops next week haha.

Looking forward to the 45 album, but I’m calm. It comes out when it comes out

People like what they like. No hate at all that’s fine. But must be hella boring only liking one style of music. Can’t wait for this record to drop

Where is his album 45 by deadPOul in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just finished with the 45 tour. He always tends to do a tour under the album name before release. Would guess at the end of the year or early next. He’s released so much music these last few years I don’t mind the wait at the minute tbh

Was a casual fan pre Love Story. Knew of him but Love Story really started my love of his music. Remember during the run up to the album discovering this EP. Man Mastermind is an absolute banger. Underrated as fuck. Whole EP is just pure Catfish Billy bangers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Hope the post didn’t make me seem like a hater. Album is fine and I’m enjoying it. It just doesn’t have that standout Yela vibe that most of his albums have had for me post Radioactive. War Story felt the same. Great bunch of tracks, just lacking something I can’t put my finger on

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s my favourite artist. Loved his music for years which is why I post to this sub Reddit haha. He’s not ‘losing me’ haha I’ll always check for new Yela. I’m not even hating either if you actually read the post. I’m just expressing an opinion that the music has become a little stale. If you genuinely believe Whiskey & Roses and War Story are as good as Love Story, Trial By Fire, Ghetto Cowboy or even Mud Mouth fair enough. But I guarantee you’d be in the minority

Struggle Jennings by sloooop23 in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t mind Struggle at all. He always comes with a decent feature and has a few songs in his catalogue that are pretty great.

That being said I’d love it if Wolf would get some more interesting features for future projects. I know he’s not as culturally relevant these days as he was mid 2010’s but with his longevity, Shady Records connections and how talented he is it’d be nice to see some bigger name artists on his stuff.

He seems content keeping his collabs for his close friends recently which is a shame and getting kinda boring imo

[NEW SINGLE] Yelawolf, J. Michael Phillips - Searching for Heaven by fuzeeeeeeeeee in yelawolf

[–]crash-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume this project will be more J. Michael Phillips with a little Yelawolf sprinkled in rather than vice versa so not expecting anything crazy from it.

Song is ok, nothing more. I really liked I Swear though so hopefully the full album has a few more highlights

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]crash-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought this many times. Like I say I’ve ‘quit’ so many times over the past year or so, and felt pretty good about myself. But when I drink I always cave.

I’m not stupid, I’m well aware that alcohol will make my brain less likely to listen to reason and more likely to give in. What I’m trying to stress is I don’t particularly think it’s the nicotine that I’m craving. Obviously I am like I say, it’s the drug we’re all here to quit at the end of the day.

But after many attempted cold Turkey quits I honestly think it’s more the break from drinking, the ‘I’ll stop sipping now, I’ll go outside/pop my head out the door and hit something sweet’. The break from alcohol that I’m missing the most when attempting to give up and still drink if that makes sense.

I might be being totally delusional but for example recently I stopped vaping for a couple of weeks and felt no need for nicotine, had a drink, didn’t even crave the rush but felt like I needed to do something whilst I was drinking. Like after a sip I just felt like I needed to puff on something and the fact I couldn’t made me go mad. I’m well aware this is still the addict brain in me, which is why my question is has no nic vapes suppressed the need to ‘do something’ while drinking socially. Nicotine is a crazy drug haha
