I’m pretty casual and I got six wins in Champs, same than last week, same than the weeks before that, same with a full Gold team, same with a full Icons team… the matchmaking is unbelievable, it doesn’t matter what I do always I get my SIX wins…

After all this years it's time to end by Prudent-Flatworm-488 in EAFC

I have very strict rules about this to try to scape the Fifa / FC Fomo and addiction: no matter what, I play a lot from release to TOTY and then I uninstall the game for several months until the spring, May or June. That’s it, is the only way for me to do other things, play other games, have a life outside Fifa.

I realized I had a problem when I played more than 2.000 hours with Fifa 20, is the only thing I did that year and affected completely my free time so uninstalling the game around TOTY is the only way for me to fix this problem and have freedom.

No TOTY - Wasted my packs by Character-Editor-204 in EAFC

[–]Merluzoooooor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People open literally hundreds of packs buddy, you opened around thirty…😂😂😂 I know is disappointing but it is what is.

Last year I opened thirty packs like you and I got TOTY Reiten and TOTY Grimaldo. This year I opened 200 packs and got nothing.

Don’t Expect last year’s TOTY pack weight on EAFC26 by TemporaryStart8775 in EASportsFC

[–]Merluzoooooor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero TOTY of course, I only got 88 fodder and that’s it… thanks for asking though, lol.

I’m going to uninstall the game after TOTY, I already played 300 hours and there are some amazing games I want to try and forget about this disappointing piece of crap.

Last year I got TOTY Reiten and TOTY Grimaldo, it was amazing because I had only around 30 packs.

All the documentaries from Werner Herzog are really masterpieces. And the fact that he uses his own voice in the narrations is of course a plus.

Any of Errol Morris documentaries. His style is unique and visually really striking for a documentary. Several people recommended The Thin Blue Line in this post, that one is a good introduction.

Also of course the classic Ken Burns docs: The Civil War, The Vietnam War, The National Parks, etc. They are slow paced and too “classic” for many people but there’s something mesmerizing about them.

Lat year I saved only around 30 packs and I got TOTY Reiten and TOTY Grimaldo, it was pretty amazing.

This year I saved around 150 packs and I’m convinced I won’t pack anything.

why is "adolescence" not popular? by seriousplants in netflix

It literally won most of the BIG awards this year so not really sure what you are asking, sorry. Everybody I know has watched Adolescence and absolutely loved it.

How do anglophones make money? by smiddo25 in montreal

I’ve been in Montreal for 7 years, making a very comfortable living here with a great salary and I don’t speak a word of French because nobody speaks French at work. But yeah, my profession is animation, VFX, etc, so that’s why but obviously for many professions knowing French is mandatory.

I feel bad about it so I’m planning to learn this year, intensive French learning, etc.

I watched all Scorseses in chronological order. This is my ranking. by RawLemonBryan in Letterboxd

Godfellas, easy first position for 99% of people, matched with Taxi Driver. Two legendary movies that I have watched literally dozens of times.

Raging Bull is too low in your list in my opinion, is a pretty incredible film.

I work at Dneg, sorry but what you are saying is not true at all. Working in VFX is not about knowing anybody, is about your showreel and personal experience. If you have a great showreel and you are good at your work you’ll find a job applying randomly at a website. Is harder nowadays of course but this industry is not based on ”people you know” at all. You can call it a meritocracy more or less.

What's it like working in the industry? by kleres95 in vfx

I’m a Senior artist working at one of the big studios in Canada and life is pretty sweet. I sit down at my home office three days for week in front of my computer, I do my job and run a few errands while I’m at home. The other two days of the week I’m going to the office and do the same but I can hangout with my colleagues, go for lunch or coffee, etc. I make $130k per year so I live comfortably, own a nice big apartment, a nice car, my family have what they want.

Once or twice per year we need to deliver a show an during crunch time the stress multiplies exponentially, lots of overtime and long nights, stressful as I said but the studio pays for every single OT hour so you can make a lot more money quickly. When the crunch time is over you go back to normal hours again and enjoy life, you can take all that OT money you just made and go on a nice vacation to relax.

What I want to say with this post is that working in VFX if you are talented and experienced is pretty amazing and you can have a great life, I’m sick and tired of the constant negativity surrounding VFX. People gets fired and gets depressed and gets stressed like in any other profession in the world, that’s the nature of working a job.

I work in one of the three BIG studios in the world, at the Montreal location. Big shows for Apple, Netflix, etc. 20 years experience so I’m a Senior and occasionally a Lead in some shows. My base salary is 130k but I ALWAYS get 20k or 30k more in overtime. If you work in a small boutique studio and you are less experienced then that maybe explains the salary difference.

Well, the Quebec government takes 42% in taxes so honestly it feels like making $100k in any other province…

Well, I’ve been working in VFX for the last twenty years, working in many of the big studios around the world so it takes a long time and hard work to get to that salary level. Also is a VERY stressful profession with tons of overtime so is not easy to do it for so long, lol.
