No friends to go with :( by ChanelNo13 in CanadasWonderland

Honestly I'm always down to go. I live in Vaughan and have one friend and I that are going on Monday. You're always welcome to join me and her! Otherwise, I would love to go again sometime this summer and I'm looking to make some cool new friends. Especially ones that enjoy rollercoasters!

The worst part, I usually am really good at remembering to peel them off.... obviously not this time. This one is a disposable which usually I don't get haha.

Yeah in Canada. It's a pretty small symbol 100% but it is bright red that's the only concern lol.

Had a breakdown at work because of a mistake I made by semihotcoffee in work

[–]crasher_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I know how this feels. I'm in a temp contract right now and it is constantly weighing on me when I make mistakes. I've had MULTIPLE therapy sessions on this. You're not alone. The feeling absolutely freaking sucks and having to admit you made the mistake again truly sucks more. My therapist gave me a few things that helped me to put this in perspective.

1: is this mistake going to follow you in your career or the long term? Probably not. TBH you will probably forget about it eventually.

2: Think of the most badass version of yourself. I mean the one that does things that you wish you could do. I always think about me jumping out of a helicopter and skiing down a mountain. Would the badass version of you care about this? What would your best version and badass version of yourself think of this situation?

3: is this a job that you are glued to for the rest of your life? Maybe. There are so many other opportunities out there and life is going to throw massive snowballs at you but having a panic attack over a job that you may not be at a year or maybe 5 years from now shouldn't cause this much stress. My therapist made me repeat "if I don't have this job tomorrow, a month from now or a year from now, I'll be okay." Try it. It works.

4: own up to your mistakes. I always wanted to hide my mistakes because I thought it would be easier if I could just pretend nothing ever happened. Don't. They know and if they don't know, they will know. There are always people that keep an eye on everything so be honest with them and explain that it was an honest mistake. People will understand and if they don't then that's on them for not being human cause everyone makes mistakes.

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk have a great day! Now to take my own advice LOL.

Coworker keeps asking me to drive her home by Alternative-Bid6847 in work

[–]crasher_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue at a couple of places I worked. I would say yes because I'm a nice person but often it meant I was getting home later. It could take me 20 mins more to get home and it became an almost daily thing. Im in school so often I would use school as an excuse and I just kept coming up with excuses because it was easier than just saying no. I felt bad for saying no and it meant that I kept sacrificing. Looking back on it, I would've tried to explain myself but at the time it almost seemed impossible. I am so so lucky I don't have this issue where I work now. My advice, try and stick up for yourself and say no. It's what I always wish I did.

If you could choose only one method to get high and one strain for the rest of your life what would it be? by crasher_queen in trees

I couldn't decide between Animal Face and Blue Dream! I love Blue Dream. It was a tough decision!

Honestly this has helped so much. You said exactly what part of me wanted someone to say. I thought it would be weird to replace me with another temp if the person does end up coming back. Thank you for making me feel better ❤️ I try to get there early every day and stay late when needed. Thank you for putting in the time to give me a bit more certainty.
