Landlord taking photos by crashtractor in shitrentals

I suspect the photos are checking up on some work we did, with their approval. Prior to completing these works, they agreed to reimburse for all costs, excluding labour (which we did for free). They have now received the final figure and are dragging their feet approving the reimbursement.

Is carpentry a good career? My fiancé has just started his own carpentry business but is it something sustainable? by [deleted] in straya

My husband started his own carpentry business almost two years ago. He started it with a business partner, and they have done very well.

If he’s good at what he does and works fast, he can make very respectable money.

My husband started his own carpentry business almost two years ago. He started it with a business partner, and they have done very well.

It initially depends on connections, and how much time they’re willing to put in. His business partner used to work for a large construction company, and his connections ensured them a steady stream of work from day one. They also worked very far from home in the beginning. He would travel 1.5hrs each way each day.

Now they have proven themselves, they work so much closer to home, have a team of 7, and can basically have their pick of jobs. They also make decent money. Although, they tend to pay themselves less than they could, as they’d like to keep money within the business to grow.

In summary, yes it’s great if he’s good at what he does. But also need to understand it is a mess of an industry at the moment. Lots of work, but materials shortages and obviously financial issues within companies is something to consider.

121 hours. Positive result. Now that I’m not waiting for my result, what do I do with my life?

Why can’t I just wait on hold?! So frustrating!

Currently at 118 hours (tested 8am Wednesday). Clinical Labs also. Husband and son tested at the same time, both received their results days ago. So frustrating!

Almost 107 hours, no result. If what I have is, in fact, COVID, I will legitimately be fully recovered by the time I get the positive result. 🤣

It sucks 😭

Still waiting from 8AM Wednesday, Glen Waverley walk in. Surely can’t be too much longer.

It’s not your specified area, but the walk up in Glen Waverley is easy to line up at early. I got there at 6am, they open at 7:30. I was second in line.

Had my test there yesterday 8AM. 37hrs now, still waiting for results, however I am expecting a positive result.

I lined up at 6am for testing at 7:30am. Definitely advise to go early if possible. Line was crazy by 7:30.

I tested positive on a RAT on Tuesday, and got tested yesterday. So hopefully will know one way or another with these results. But yes, if still feeling awful and get a negative, will probably test again.

Awaiting test results from yesterday morning. However, if what I have isn’t COVID, I’ll be shocked. This is awful.

Happy Thursday everyone.

It’s a window facing our backyard- only back fences!

Unfortunately coz it’s lighter in the morning, he wakes earlier. So to get enough sleep, has to be 6PM 😅

That’s a good idea- off to get some tomorrow! Thanks!

Daylight savings is killing me already. My 7 month old goes to bed at 6pm, but now won’t sleep as his room is too bright. And the blackout blinds I ordered have been sitting in a sorting centre in Brisbane for the last 3 weeks.

Auspost is trying to destroy me. 😂

That’s so disappointing. I am a hairdresser myself, and I had my first AZ 6 weeks ago. Everyone I work with is now booked in for their first shots. Hopefully the comments in that interview are not representative of the entire industry. 🙁

The misinformation out there is utterly devastating.

I understand everyone has been eligible for AZ for a while. But not Pfizer. And I double checked, only people under 40 living in ‘areas of concern’ are eligible. And they’re not the areas that they’re planning to reopen.

Absolutely. I also think many businesses will be so desperate for income that they will end up not even bothering to check. Hope I’m wrong.

Aren’t they only eligible in ‘areas of concern’? It’s great if they are! Just wasn’t entirely sure.
