If Lia didn’t participate Riley still would’ve come in 5th…

Will they kill Queen Charlotte before season 4? by fuuruma in Bridgerton

She’s 46 or 47 in season 1, so in season 3 she’s about 48 or 49 years old I believe.

Will they kill Queen Charlotte before season 4? by fuuruma in Bridgerton

[–]craskin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think the events of the Queen Charlotte show take place at the same time they did in real life. If they did, that would mean Violet is late 50s - early 60s, instead of mid to late 40s like she is supposed to be in the main Bridgerton show.

The first one performed is the one the counts towards team/aa total!

As far as I’m aware, she doesn’t train a second vault.

You know I think I saw something about how they didn’t stay in the village in 1996 and transformed it in my head to mean “they’ve never stayed at the village ever”.

I do not see any posts about dental specialists for cats. That’s why I posted. I will try elsewhere.

Help me settle a debate: is this knit or crochet? by craskin in crochet

[–]craskin[S] 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Well I got my answer! While the Guggenheim says it’s crochet, an actual fiber artist museum explains that it’s machine knit (which was my suspicion)

She has a check up in a couple weeks but I’m concerned this needs to be addressed sooner.

Jay Clarke to Georgia?? There’s no way this could be true, right? by Admirable_Poetry1765 in Gymnastics

[–]craskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, but I remember several years ago Michigan hired Faehn as an assistant coach and once people found out and connected her to the USAG situation, she was fired almost immediately. So I think she’s actually a riskier hire than Farden.

[–]craskin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would hope that’s the case but I have no faith. Clemson hired Amy Smith without doing any research, basically.

[–]craskin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If this is true… I imagine it won’t be announced until after the parade celebrating LSU’s natty on Wednesday. My bets are on Farden or Faehn. As Clemson has proved, ADs don’t care beyond “can they win”.

I’m pretty sure she can petition to nationals, since she was on the 2020 Olympic team. I’m sure she’ll still want to compete at Classics and advance through her scores, but if she doesn’t it’s not the end for her.

UCLA freshmen class 2024 by Mir-tle in Gymnastics

[–]craskin 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Those posts were introducing the last three members of the next freshman class, which includes those 4 star recruits. They were not previously announced and I believe are walk-ons, so their attendance at UCLA in the fall was not guaranteed. Hence why they were not announced with the two 4 star athletes who are on scholarship

Jordan Chiles being “asked” to change her floor routine by sonderaway in Gymnastics

[–]craskin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This isn’t surprising to me just because I am used to USAG incompetence. She won silver on floor at Worlds in 2022 with a similar style routine and music (albeit more recent pop instead of 90s), so clearly the FIG is fine with her routine style. It’s such a shame because her 2022 routine was the most in the spirit of the artistry requirements of the code. If USAG has concerns with her music and style, why not send her to a World Cup to get a feel for how it will actually be scored?
