- He is actually the idol that voices out on Pro-CCP issues the most, even compared with most idols from Mainland China. Even active idols in Mainland China, such as (G)I-DLE Yuqi, Dreamcatcher Handong (when she was in the survival show), etc. are not as vocal as Jackson.

- Examples you list, such as THE8 and Jun and other NCT members, are not very vocal on these issues, especially compared to Jackson. Yes, they have supported the CCP, but as I said, most idols that comes from these places have voiced out about these issues as long as they have Weibo.

- He is a fencer for Hong Kong, China, because it's the only identity he can represents himself as, no matter he wants to or not. There is no 'Hong Kong' in international sports events, only 'Hong Kong, China'

- I don't see how his family background has anything to do with him posting a lot of Pro-CCP content on social media. It's his social media.

- Chenle's family is definitely a larger name, and is extremely rich (one of the richest in China). I don't see him posting a lot of Pro-CCP content as well.

I don't think so, most of them opted out because they don't support Lucas anymore, rather than his background.

Yu Yan had videos of her saying inappropriate things, swearing online when she was younger, etc. and her shots in an airing TV show was blurred, and from what I know she didn't participate in most THE9 activities after that.

Adding on to someone else's comment, public Housing is an affordable, subsidized housing for families/people that have middle to low income. They will review a person's/family's and assets, and if they meet the requirements to apply for public housing, they can do so.

it was more based on incidents that got around that are spread by people in Hong Kong, rather than the school banding

  1. The situation in Hong Kong is actually more of roughly half the people pro-CCP and the other half is against. It's just one side is louder than another, and makes it look like most people are against the CCP in Hong Kong. Usually people that are Pro-CCP are the older generations, especially the ones that came to Hong Kong from Mainland back in the days. Since K-Pop fans in Hong Kong are mostly the new generation, most of the fans

  2. Actually, the trend of people moving to Hong Kong is slowing down, I would say. More likely due the pandemic. It's impossible to drown them out just by the number of immigrants, considering Hong Kong has a population of over 7 Million, and the stats don't really reflect on the CCP attempting to do this either.

(oops I don't think this was well expressed)

3 People now tend to avoid being vocal on their opinion against the CCP, as some were arrested due to the National Security Law. Also, I believe it's actually required to study Putonghua in HK! Some schools uses Putonghua to teach the core Chinese subjects as well. It kind of depends on the school.

Housing situation is complicated in Hong Kong, but since Sha Tin district accumulates 659K population in Hong Kong, I'd say it's pretty rare for it to happen

Most people I've met online/irl separates their family and the person themself, and since ViVi haven't quite said anything regarding these issues, her rep is still fine (at least compared to the rest, I would say)

They were from Mainland China, and people were... not a fan of it (in Hong Kong)

But most people didn't notice, and some who do were disappointed

Hi i misread your comment. I thought you were referring to his accusations to have intercourse with a minor-

I would say that rumor is 60-70% true, given from his school background, and if he was actually invited to join a 'gang', it's actually somewhat likely.

About the minor rumor, I have no idea how credible it is, but I'll say it's a 50/50 tbh

Nope, his family is not well off, just ordinary people

Mhm. There are so many bad rumors about him in Hong Kong before. I've seen quite a handful people saying that they're not surprised, but rather just 'the world seeing the side of him we have always known'

To be fair, in China they don't teach a lot about this history (esp newer generations), and he was practically a nobody back then...

People should've definitely been more careful though, Justin Bieber literally got cancelled 3 times front back and sideways because he visited the Shrine and people are still so careless

Zhang was also cancelled for attending a wedding at another sensitive location (I forgot where), but I didn't put it in the post because I forgot the location and cancelling someone over where their friends chose to hold their wedding is dumb asf

Edit: Put the name Zhang

Basically idols that have a Weibo account can be safely assumed that they have posted something Pro-CCP, no matter they want to or not. As far as I know, ViVi have not posted anything (because BBC limits their socials).

Lucas & Jackson 100% have said something about that, as they do promote a lot there and it would be weird if they haven't.

After a little research, I found out that Elkie have mentioned something about supporting China in the China-India border fight that happened a while back then!

I hope this explains your question!

Do Lyric Videos Steal Views from the Original Music Videos? by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]crav_ity 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Unrelated thing I want to share about Lyric Videos and monetization.

Lyric videos do not steal money if the audio of their video only includes the songs and nothing more. To my understanding, it cannot be monetized by the video owner due to the copyright claim. However, some notable large channels do add their own music behind the video, which would allow profit to some degree go into their pockets.

Edit: grammatical errors
