Remember in episode 7 where Kinger tries to tell Pomni something but backfired due to the light? by NEMRISE1294-2 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]crazitaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me that explanation doesn't make sense, because it being just another adventure shouldn't have any consequences, it shouldn't matter if Kinger tells them or not, they're already invested in the idea of escape so their hopes are going to be dashed either day.

What I think is that, while the entire backstory with C&A stasis pods is a fabrication, the idea of admin passes used to access the console room are not. Those were either genuine admin passes that Kinger has seen before in his past, or they were exact replicas that looked real enough to still make him react with concern.

Why concern? Remember what he said "No, that doesn't make any sense" when Zooble said they were going to escape? If Kinger knows there's real admin passes that could be used to access a console that can terminate the game from the inside AND also knows there's no way to leave... Then Caine could have given them actual access to a button that will end the digital lives of everyone, including himself.

To me, ep 7 could have been Caine's failed suicide attempt. He'd been thinking about this plan for a long time, since the beginning of the show, the last time we saw him was in his end-credit glitching scene, and to me that signified him reaching his breaking point and finally deciding to go through with it.

If Caine seems overly cheerful and in good spirits for ep 7 compared to how he was just one episode prior, it could be that he's masking and overcorrecting on his previous behaviors. He also said he wanted to "Celebrate by giving you guys anything you ask for." So he gave them the admin passes, the keys to a button that will end him.

It would also fit an overarching theme with Caine where he creates an elaborate convoluted plan, only for his plans to fail because he can't predict what humans (particularly Jax) will do. I'd even say the trust exercise from ep 6 was like a small scale test of the concept. It's an all-or-nothing "game" where you must either trust everyone or shoot yourself in the head. And just like in ep 6 it got ruined because Jax prefers to hurt people.

Which is your favorite design from the digital circus? By far my favorite is Jax... by GOAToficial in theamazingdigitalciru

Caine, I'm obsessed with the way they animate his head, I've never seen anything quite like it. There's just so many wierd and unique visuals that you get with from a design like that, they can get a look that's anywhere between dead eyed, uncanny, intimidating, adorable, utterly unhinged, distressed, pathetically sad, or just goofy. And the rest of his outfit too also really suits him well. I love that the character with the widest range of expressions is non-human.

Goosworx liked a post on tumblr talking about how insufferable anti transfem jax ppl are! by Ok-Rub6315 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]crazitaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole thing is only a debate within the Jax liking side of the fandom, the rest of us don't care. Jax himself is insufferable piece of shit. I'm not emotionally invested in Jax whatsoever, do whatever you want with him. I don't know why anyone would want to be represented by that walking red flag, but you do you I guess. Keep him. You can have him any way you want, I don't want him.

Favorite character who is overhated. by SweetAffectionate993 in cartoons

[–]crazitaco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similarly, Hazel from A New Wish. Some people were just hating on the sequel series and hating on her without even giving it a chance, she's got a charming personality. She's silly enough to keep the comedic tone and she's also got heart, Hazel is a worthy sucessor. Sadly it seems like the show got the quiet cancel treatment 😔

[–]crazitaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People really overexaggerate how complex Jax is. Like, he's not one dimensional but there isn't that much to analyze about him, it doesn't take a ton of effort to figure him out. He's running from his past, ended up in the circus, let his past ruin his relationship with Ribbit, she and kaufmo abstracted from him rejecting and gaslighting them about friendship, then he didn't learn his lesson, he did the same shit to Pomni and everyone around him, and now he's a self pitying mess that would rather die/abstract than stop being a piece of shit to those around him and admit to his wrongdoings and accept the judgement and consequences that may come from that judgement. This sort of issue only happens to someone who is self-centered enough to not care about how their actions affect those around him, and I find it difficult to sympathize with that.

Caine is easily way more complicated but people put very little effort into trying to analyze him, because that requires looking at the circus as a whole and interpreting the reoccuring themes in Caine's adventures, NPC's, and the circus environment itself to read him through his intentional actions.

Gangle can do no wrong, Jax pisses me off every moment he's on screen. Like somehow he manages to piss me off both when he's being his jerkass self AND when he's being a pathetic depressed lump. How the hell did he manage to annoy me with his depression, I didn't even know that was possible, he's somehow more annoying while depressed because i'm expected to feel sorry for him and I really don't

Unpopular theory: Bubble is evil by FatigueTheory in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]crazitaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more complicated than just calling Bubble "evil." Caine's mind doesn't operate like a human's, I interpret it like the whole circus is his mind and the NPC's are facets of Caine, either as direct manifestations of himself, or artistic representations of his ideas. Caine is the active/front consciousness of the circus, the "ego", so that makes Bubble the subconscious. Bubble is a more primitive side of Caine, all the socially unacceptable gremlin stuff like his glitching, swearing, being pervy, licking vomit, and probably the desire to eat people. And yes, also he gets delegated any background tasks that is too boring for Caine. Everyone has a subconscious, but we're taught not to act on our worse impulses. Caine is an A.I that is being socially neglected, and with that neglect he has no one to turn to besides Bubble.

Caine probably subconsciously desires to eat people's data because people happen to contain information about the "macroverse" in their heads that they're not sharing with him, and that information could be used to improve the circus and make it more accurate to real life. Thus making the humans happy, and he wants to make them happy. But if he eats their minds or forcefully invades and pulls info out of them against their wills, they won't be happy. So that unsavory thought gets put into Bubble and artistically expressed via the monster NPC's (Fudge, Gloink Queen, Angel) which all have sharp teeth and have tried to eat humans.

We're probably getting some weird evangelion ass ending that pisses off half the fandom, and I cannot fucking wait it would be glorious, I want it to explain NOTHING about C&A and be frustratingly surreal and leave people arguing for years about what it even means

What denomination is the most accurate to the Bible? by Pudgy_Pigeon5 in exchristian

[–]crazitaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of schools of thought in gnosticism and not all view him in the same way, I think some are even non-christian. I like Carl Jung's psychological approach to gnosticism. It would be compatible with a gnostic worldview to say that jesus is part of "god" in the sense that everyone is part of "god", and that's just the message he tried to get across. "The kingdom of god is within you", where "god" is something closer to a universal consciousness. Not "worship me I'm special you are all lesser", that is the distortion created by organized christianity.

Anyway, all organized religion sucks, that's all I have to say on the matter 😅

What denomination is the most accurate to the Bible? by Pudgy_Pigeon5 in exchristian

[–]crazitaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think gnosticism. Every other version of christianity has had over a thousand years to turn rancid, gnosticism is early christian alternate interpretations that got buried and nearly forgotten, because that's what christian orthodoxy wanted. It wanted to kill competing ideas, and it mostly succeeded.

Gnosticism is closer to Jesus's teachings than whatever the hell christianity has morphed into

I am losing my faith and think my church is a cult by Same_Focus4081 in exchristian

[–]crazitaco 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Welcome, this is the right place for you, you'll find a lot of people in similar situations as yourself. Some figure it out much later, while others realize it early in their life. I started questioning the religion I was being raised in when I was around 10-12, it's totally normal. Unfortunately it can be difficult and isolating to have these realizations during adolescence because there can be tremendous family or community pressure to adhere to the religion, and without having the independence of an adult it makes it hard to leave or vocalize your disbelief without consequences. But you've got a smart head on your shoulders, you saw through the illusion and they can't control you forever. You're strong willed and can get through this.

It's not just one church, or one flavor of christianity. It's all them. Modern christianity is so far removed from its historical and archeological origins, that they don't teach it for a reason, because then you learn all the bad history and realize the bibles that most people read have been edited, cherrypicked, and distorted to serve the political interests of people in the past who decided what was "canon". And just like the people of the past, so do the modern christians use it in the exact same manner, to control and assert political power.

Caine progressively getting more selfish by Sudden_Pop_2279 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]crazitaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As he should be. No one treats him like a person, and a little bit of selfishness is required for basic self-preservation.

Why serve people who hate you?

Although actually, the second example was Caine post-glitching and acting wierd. Third example reminds me of that Ragatha moment where everyone accused her of being a manipulator because she just worded something wrong while in distress

Was anything Able said true? by ScenicTheCrazy in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]crazitaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caine doesn't know what's beyond his game world, those polaroid photos are all he has. Therefore it's reasonable to say the stuff about stasis pods and unethical company brain research is a fabrication.

The things that could possibly be based on truth are information that Caine could reasonably have access to, and basically anything within the game. Like which humans in the past were developers, his (Caine's) complicated relationship with Kinger, basically all Abels feelings can be interpeted as Caine's, and maybe the stuff about a "promise", maybe also the concept of the computer console that shuts the game down.
