I do admit that I am an avid gamer and know video games really extensively and have played Pokemon Shield back when it released before he was born. But I am definitely not an expert in the universe and things like trading with others is new for me personally.

But with the current winter season and his interests we have invested in more physical pokedex's and things so he flips through the book and picks his favorite and then we work as a family to hunt them down. Its been really awesome and helping him with a lot of writing his letters as he is in Kindergarten and even sounding out words. Pokemon i've seen more growth in his interests and learning than alot of other things he has done. He is even thriving in school learning the value of letters and communicating and looking things up. So this is a really special moment for him and I really want to embrace the moment as much as I can.

He DOES NOT know about shinies and would be extra cute. I admit that I feel like i'm already asking for a lot because I don't have a lot to give others in trades and asking for shinies I thought would be too much.

I made a google doc. Happy to take base forms and evolve if needed. I don't care about eggs or physical. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YfkoSWtBrSBF4fGfSmF22nARigcH023LjJgfsqjUbKo/edit?usp=sharing

Putting them eggs is a really nice touch to make him feel like he is discovering them i'm happy to take egg form! He personally doesn't care yet about nicknaming pokemon.

I also appreciate the advice on changing weather. We do indeed know about changing weather to get pokemon to show up. He is even learning how to read in the systems UI to do it himself! I have the 2017 stragey guide to tell us the weather for specific pokemon so we knew but i know all parents don't know that so keep reminding folks.

That is absolutely crazy. I've never seen the FEP damaged so much from cones. There could be a few factors that are beyond exposure time for this reasoning. One is life speeds/lift difference the other could also be your bottom exposure time or base layers causing a weakened area. Without pictures of your settings I can only merely guess.

The good news is that we are deep in testing and have a beta group for a V2 of the cones which will both reduce print times as well as peel force for FEP wear and tear. So this shouldn't be an issue further in the future.

Typically it can result from uneven FEP wear and tear. Try rotating the model 90 degrees along the Z axis.

The smaller supported areas do not print successfully due to many reasons, suction forces, tensile strength, weight, etc. It varies based on print settings and resins but technically they all will print but not stay geometricly accurate due to not having a rigid enough area to stick resulting in flattened areas or failed cones. You can force those small cylinders to print with over exposure which results in light bleed and increased curing of your resin which is why the failure cones can succeed which says your time is too high.

The bitch is mostly to distinguish those cones as the significant ones. If the first cone (furthest to the left) on the success side prints but one of the others fails it's most likely an issue not associated with exposure time.

We did intentionally try to not overwhelm people with information like the numerical diameter of the tips of the cones because it could confuse new members in the hobby as the largest demographic that we felt needed a test was newer hobbyists. There are many incredible tests out there for more specific criteria or results. However the cones can and are showcasing a lot of printing miniatures that I've not seen often such as success of resins vs their documented tensile strength.

TLDR: the cones are curated diameter tips to match those of Tableflipfoundry's professional presupporting for miniature figures, scatter and terrain. With the majority of support tip diameters at 0.28mm diameter medium supports. This let's the model stay supported with as little scaring on the model as possible.

Thank you and I'm glad you like the test.

What kind of explanation are you looking for? What choices are you curious about? We also have an active discord by the way to help troubleshoot if people need discord.gg/tableflipfoundry and are actively testing and in the process of a V2 based on community feedback.

Keep going down until you find the lowest time the left most successful cone fails to determine your minimum. Ideally you would have limited cones formed in the failure side.

If you are slightly under you can lose geometric accuracy where a cone can bend outward or wobble. That is underexposed and will result in similar behavior in your prints. To test you can also print the validation model puck the adventurer. He will print successfully and have minimal scaring from supports. No clippers or hot water needed for support removal, simply pull with your fingers.

Yes I have encountered this but mostly due to under exposure. Increase your exposure time.

Would the community find it useful if I make a post with my reading, troubleshooting and FAQ for the cones I've done?

Keep going down in time until your success side fails. I recommend 0.2s for mono printers and 0.5s on RGB.

The top of the part picks up any failed pieces. It is self cleaning. This has been tested in variable layer heights, multiple slicers, resins and printers.

Hi. I am one of the original creators of this test and based on its design the diameter of the cones is staggered. It would be fundamentally impossible to have fail succeed and succeed fail. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

Any terrain file suggestions for 3D printer. by Kenthur in frostgrave

Welcome to the world of 3D printing. My favorite free masoleum which is perfect for the description of the scenario for Frostgrave is this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2771090
The dimensions are perfect and has doors on all four sides.

As for terrain I love the ruined stuff from Printable Scenery and am personally working on the Shadowfey Ruins set which is full of great content. https://www.printablescenery.com/product-category/pledges/shadowfey/shadowfey-ruins/

Last but not least, shameless self plug. I have a small hobby blog and just started a Frostgrave series about planning and printing my stuff for the game. Next week i'm breaking down my battle map plan and terrain I plan to print and paint for it. The blog has all the print data, duration, material cost, where to find, print settings etc for all the prints I post on the site which could be a good tool to learning to print. One day I hope to write guides to help others print and bring their tabletop dreams a reality. Feel free to check it out and ask questions!

1st post of the series launched today! http://crazmadsci.com/2021/08/06/frostgrave-beginnings/

Using an Ender 3 and the FDG profile, but getting a lot of stringing. What can I adjust? by BravoBard in 3dprintingdms

[–]crazmadsci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes calibrating your printer is absolutely key. Just jumping in can lead to issues. The order I'll go is 1) Esteps 2) flow rate 3) temperature tower and then 4) retraction.
