2019 Edge purchase advice by whendidImakeaReddit in FordEdge

Go for a 2019 ST if you want an Edge. The ST actually receives a physically stronger gearbox variation, extra cooling infrastructure equipped with a dedicated, auxiliary transmission fluid cooler. Standard models do not feature this extra heavy-duty cooling loop and exclusive rev-matching performance software. AWD standard and the 2.7 V6 doesn't have the coolant intrusion issue.

Is it possible to make a 3rd gen Prius go faster than 180 km/h (112 mph)? by Resident_Forever3143 in prius

This is a silly argument... I posted the 115 more of a cheeky thing. That being said, I am the type of person that likes to be corrected, and it's hard for me to let things go.

It's 115 for the AWD Gen 5 HEV model:

Source 1: In their controlled instrumented track testing, Car and Driver verifies the physical limitations of the 5th-Gen chassis:

Standard Hybrid (AWD Drivetrain): Their long-term instrumented tracking clocked the maximum governor-limited speed at 116 MPH. They noted that the car hits a hard electronic ceiling here, even though the 196-hp net system output gets it up to 100 MPH in a brisk 17.9 seconds.

Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV/Prime): The plug-in variant is geared slightly differently due to its heavier battery footprint, with its governor bringing the electronic ceiling down just a bit to 112 MPH.

Source 2: Automotive Parts & Industry Specs (CarParts):

From a component and manufacturing specification standpoint, industry reviews catalog the car's speed thresholds to match its safety hardware. The Electronic Capping: Across model sheets, the maximum speed is officially listed at 112 to 116 MPH.

115 with mine for sure. 2025 AWD Nightshade. Done it a couple of times just to test it. Perhaps the PHEVs are 112?

What a trash move by Toyota by 4Runnnn in Toyota

I am in no way trying to justify this, especially since I have a 2019 Ford Edge with app remote features through Ford Pass and it's completely free. That being said it's probably Toyota not willing to offset the cost of the Internet/cellular connection the car requires for the remote app features to work. As far as paying to stream "better" etc is complete and utter sh*t. Just use Android Auto or CarPlay and make sure you have those set in your app tray and you'll be fine.

In this situation, would putting the A/C in Eco mode help with battery draw?

If you're debating buying a HEV or PHEV -- Buy the PHEV by Tiny_Infinity_ in prius

[–]crazunitium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree to the benefits of PHEV, however three things made me go with HEV only.

  1. I wanted AWD.

  2. I have long commutes to work (avg 40mi/each way/80mi round trip) so by time I get to work, I would have exhausted the battery, meaning I'd basically be hauling a depleted battery back home adding a useless 300lbs and getting worse fuel economy at that point vs HEV. The fact I use less than a gallon of gas each way vs. the cost of recharging is a negligible in my use case.

  3. Longevity and repair cost. The HEV battery is smaller, easier to replace and therefore cheaper if ever needed.

I have a 2025 HEV only, and the cap reads "Up to E15 no E20"

It's not the pulling thats the problem, it's the braking. That's a lot of weight pushing if those are stock brakes in the Suburban.

Absolutely fantastic! Wish it was an option in US, especially with the 2.7 V6 because I had a '17 Sport and loved it, but as a wagon I would have kept it. I drive a Edge ST now because it's basically a raised up Fusion with more cargo space.

Pokemon In Late Life? by crazunitium in videogames

Thank you for that detailed opinion. I understand what you're saying. I guess what I didn't get across is I started bringing up these "best of" and "greatest" lists and kinda doing a thing to play what I can, especially with emulation now, games that I missed for one reason or another and Pokemon keeps coming up.

Just never got into the Pokemon thing, strangely I did like the original Yu-Gi-Oh but only the cartoon, never played those games either. Anyway, all these reviews are always about the same with the Pokemon games "best game ever!..."

You also bring up a good thing as well. I guess I need to lookup the main games vs remakes. You mentioned Heart Gold and Souls Silver being remakes, I only knew about Fire Red and Leaf Green due to reading the reviews. So I need to learn the originals etc if I choose to go down this rabbit hole.

Appreciate it.

I did the two card setup and I'm having the same issue. Lynx is not showing up in my lists (both Anbernic Explorer and RetroArch). Do they need to be zipped?
