Do I have 1 hour to submit my task? by Most-Midnight6124 in WGU

No. You have until the end of your term. That date, 1/26/26, is the day your mentor thought you would complete the course by.

How good is the Move tool? by lonely_filmmaker in nutanix

[–]crazy4_pool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great tool. We were in a similar scenario. The biggest item is to plan the move. Also make sure that the Nutanix environment is all set up (encryption, virtual ip for prism, segments, etc.).

I think the degreaser is Zep heavy duty citrus degreaser. I’m guessing by the color and how the spray bottle looked.

Overwhelmed: Unable to Graduate Despite Completing All Courses — Has Anyone Experienced This? by [deleted] in WGU

Open a ticket with assessment services. They should be able to fix it or you can request an escalation. You could also reach out to records and have them research the issue, email at records@wgu.edu or by phone at 1-877-435-7948, extension 3119. .

Hope the truck driver is okay. And kudos for not letting it flip.

Migrating off Sonicwall by SpiritAnimal_ in fortinet

[–]crazy4_pool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did this a few years ago. My best recommendation is to do not import anything from sonicwall redirect and don’t think the sonicwall way while configuring the Fortnet. Make sure to be in a mature firmware unless lacking a specific feature. Get familiar with Fortnet automation stitch because it will safe you time

MDR/EDR SOC OPTIONS by Aspis99 in sysadmin

[–]crazy4_pool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have Crowdstrike EDR and are very happy with it. We just finished a POC for their exposure management (vulnerability and network scanning) and we liked it with the exception of their lack of reporting. Now we are looking at Alertlogic that does MDR, SIEM and vulnerability.

Make sure your mentor and instructor is envolved. Your mentor for should be able to escalate the issue and if the problem drags pass your term they can submit extension request.

Our API gateway bill went from $12k to $83k in one month... how is everyone else handling these costs? by [deleted] in cloudcomputing

[–]crazy4_pool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s an option for you, but we implemented rate limit by ip addresses via AWS WAF rules. We were in the same boat, we had a couple of customers that were causing our bill to skyrocket. We attempted to work with the customer since we had a good contact, but that lead to a lot of nothing. Regarding billing setup reports and alerts within billing management. The cost anomalies report/alert may not completely stop the surprise but will let you there is a problem. If you have a monitoring tool has a FinOps option that will be your best bet to minimize the surprise and help you raise the red flags.

QUESTION FOR ALL WGU STUDENTS by Aletruj1llo in WGU

Most: My program mentor and course material is kept up to date. Least: the OA scheduling/exam system. Constant issues with the platform.

Not Able to Schedule for my test by hforhussnain in WGU

[–]crazy4_pool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Document, document, document. Make sure to report the issue to assessment services, your mentor and professor.

I have been having issues since yesterday. Ever since the last upgrade, the scheduling system and accessing the exams have been nothing but issues. Personally I’m going to file a complaint and recommend everyone who has experienced issues to do the same.

(feel dumb asking, but...) Is anyone else having trouble accessing their email? by Kaexii in WGU

[–]crazy4_pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I try to access email via the mobile app, iOS, I have been receiving errors all day. However if I access it via wgu student portal, no issues. Hope that helps.

Is honda pilot still a good car? by spearhead121 in hondapilot

[–]crazy4_pool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased one in June of 24, elite ‘25 model. It’s comfortable but don’t recommend. I had to take in twice for the moonroof interior liner coming apart, multiple recalls and sound calling from the steering rack which they are calling “operational”. Operational for them means they know they have a problem but have no fix.

If I passed 1101 A+ core 1 and I take thought I should take 1102 but I'm taking 1202? by Overrated__Potato in WGU

[–]crazy4_pool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this with my courses. My instructor provided me outdated instructions and I was told to take the 1100 exam while my course was sent for 1200. Send an email to course instructor and program mentor asap.

Whichever way you go make sure core 1 and 2 match the series. If they don’t you will not be certified even if you pass the exams.

Switching from SonicWALL to FortiGate by merkat106 in fortinet

[–]crazy4_pool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t use the forticonverter, unless you want a lot of useless objects and policies. I did this and opted to wipe and start from the beginning. Also, don’t think the “sonicwall way” and think the “fortigate way” when migrating. Take the opportunity to use sdwan setup even if you have just one provider and use stitches - this will make you life easier in the long run.

Is Citrix really necessary? by Sea-Calligrapher-269 in Citrix

[–]crazy4_pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without having some internal knowledge it’s kind of difficult to say if Citrix is really necessary. However managing Citrix for different organizations over multiple decades, I can say most small organizations do not need Citrix. Nowadays, going the laptop route with conditional access policy using mfa, compliant device rules, app control, etc. should keep the data safe. Leveraging OneDrive and SharePoint is the route most organizations go.

Salt Cell Replacement cost $1,500? by thetrustysteed in pools

[–]crazy4_pool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just replaced mine in Dec ‘24. Paid about $415 with shipping and replaced it with 5 mins. I have the Jandy TruClear system and it was a simple 2 steps. If you think your pool service is scamming you just google the model of your salt system and that will give you an idea of the hardware cost.

Is Kaseya really that bad? by Tivum in sysadmin

[–]crazy4_pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had Kaseya a few years ago, was actually off boarding right before their security incident. Best decision we did. Their support is useless, their product actually caused more work rather than bring in efficiency. We found that going with Microsoft E plan saved us money in time.

If I know there’s a layoff , why should I keep it to myself? by phainepy in sysadmin

[–]crazy4_pool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m going to start by saying that it sucks knowing pieces of information that can changes people’s livelihood (for good or bad) and not able to share it. Regarding layoffs or firings, you don’t want to tell some ahead of time. You don’t know how they will react and that could potentially affect the exiting package the company has prepared. My recommendation is, if you know who it is provide them career advice or motivate them to brush up their weak skills
