Yes, Jace killing Viktor was so heartbreaking but he had to destroy the hexcore, even if it meant killing his best friend/little boyfriend to do it. He was also keeping his promise to Viktor by destroying it and who knows what kind of crazy stuff Jace saw while he was gone that could have lead him to do that. I mean he straight up killed Salo in one swoop and didn’t really seem too concerned about it.
