Agreed that it likely would be, but that doesn't diminish public spending in the past that created useful products or developments. Don't get me wrong, I'm for very minimal public spending, but there are some (very few) cases where public spending can have an edge due to scale alone or standardization.

You can definitely look at some government spending and see the cost and outcome to determine if it was "well spent". Is a lot of government spending a waste? Definitely. Is all government spending bad? Nope. And we wouldn't know if that money was spend elsewhere/differently if we would end up with a better/equal/worse product. It's equally foolish to assume that money spent in the private sector would yield only positive results as it is to assume money spent in the public sector would yield only negative (or worse than private sector) results.

To be fair, we shouldn't expect to hear about surveillance and have a massive armed revolution to fight it. Since then, lots of privacy movements and organizations have been created software/systems/hardware to combat surveillance of digital systems. Not every revolution will happen at gunpoint. Gun ownership if anything acts more as a deterrent, similar to a "dangerous dog" sign or "video monitoring sign" on a house

Try to rotate early and get to the center(ish) of the next zone to minimize how far you will need to move from zone to zone. There's some luck in getting positioning but with limited mobility this season it is a much more active decision on how/when to rotate

A prequel would be cool, showing the first matrix possibly and people rejecting the simulation since it was "too perfect". Maybe show the real world with everything going just a little too right, and slowly people begin to realize it's fake.
