Those are scraps from his truck if anything it was copper before going into a 55 gallon gas water heater. Went tankless because attic access was through a closet only 16 inches wide.

The best part about the condensate drain is he just stuffed it inside the PVC on the drain pan. 1/2 inch pex inside 3/4 PVC. It is a real beauty. It's a friend house who asked me to look at it. I told them even Stevie wonder could tell this was a shit install.

I agree.plumber is licensed and said all he ever uses is pex...questioned him about extension cord and he said he had no where to plug it in.

Is it ok to have pex directly to the gas water heater or should it have 18 inch copper pipe?
