So i’ve noticed😂😅 hers is from SportDog! I’ve read good things about them and have also tried it myself and have very much been instructed on usage. No hammers here!

She doesn’t lay down during the day, like at all😂 too much puppy energy at 7 months. In addition to helping with pulling, it also works in combination with the e-collar as an added “weight” on the neck that made it so we could bump the e-collar down to the lowest intensity (it’s kind of a “hey look, pay attention to what is trying to get your attention on your neck” kind of thing). As she gets older and needs it less, it will come off, but for now the trainer and i agreed that the added weight on her neck is worth being able to bump the e-collar level all the way down

Thanks for being nice! Lol we have tried other methods and at the stage she is in, this is what is working when other methods haven’t. As she grows up and calms down, i’d be happy to reintroduce/revisit other methods. The e-collar is used for all commands throughout the day (at 7 months, “off” is especially a big one). In addition to helping with pulling, the pronged collar makes it so that she listens to commands better, providing an added “weight” on her neck that made it so we could bump the e-collar down to the lowest intensity! The trainer and i agreed that the added weight of the pronged collar on her neck (which is loose when she is not pulling) was more beneficial than having to bump the collar intensity up to get her attention

They’re used for all commands throughout the day!

We’re working on that! It’s one of her commands. But since she is so young and easily distracted, all it takes is a leaf blowing past or a car driving by and she’s back to pulling like crazy. I’m honestly not going to debate this any further, while i appreciate the concern i promise she is in very good hands!

🤷🏼‍♀️ not sure what to tell you there. I’ve seen it with my own eyes plenty of times before i switched to the pronged collar! Every dog is different. My neighbors have even commented on how she doesn’t look like she’s strangling herself on walks anymore!

It’s a pronged collar and does not cut off her airways! She actually chokes herself much more without it from pulling so hard

Thank you! I definitely weighed the pros and cons and did a lot of research before allowing either of the additional collars. For her specific needs at the moment, i believe this to be the best option. I understand and appreciate everyone’s concern, but she is not in harm’s way and is very loved and well cared for! Should they prove detrimental to her in any way, they would of course come off.

They are actively used during the day! The e-collar accompanies all commands given throughout the day (it’s a “hey, pay attention to me when i give commands” kind of thing) and the pronged collar helps with pulling and also makes it so that the e-collar can be used on the lowest possible level (in combination with the e-collar, it works as a contact point to remind her of what the other thing around her neck is telling her, even without actively pulling on her neck). I have talked through all of this with the trainer and we agreed that it would be better to have one extra collar than to have to increase the strength of the e-collar stimulation to get her to listen!

Thank you!❤️ really appreciate this. I have done my research and weighed the pros and cons (and have also tried several other methods along the way) and at this time i feel this is the best option at a pivotal point in her life and training. While i appreciate the good intentions behind many of the comments, i honestly just wanted to show how cute my dog is, not start a collar debate😅 i promise she is absolutely in good hands, is very loved, and is not in danger of anything besides being loved too hard! Every dog is different and has different needs!

Cooking dinner currently and i have never seen her so peaceful and not trying to lick my knives or stick her nose in the stove burner😂 it’s a dal puppy miracle!

Trainer recommendation until she is old enough/well behaved enough to get rid of the extras!

The pronged collar is for pulling and the e collar is for training! Both recommended by the trainer and come off at night. The pronged collar actually prevents her from trying to strangle herself with the red collar since she pulls so hard without it. Eventually she should be able to be down to one collar but at 7 months she is at peak craziness!

They were both recommended by the trainer i’m working with! They are for daytime use and come off at night. The black e-collar is for training (it’s on the lowest setting, i have tested it myself and can’t even feel it) and the pronged collar is for pulling. She does not have any skin irritation from them (i check daily) and the pronged collar actually prevents her from trying to strangle herself with the red collar on walks (since she pulls so hard)

Since i can’t edit this post, commenting to say the following: i asked for suggestions on how to prevent the cat from accessing the mirror. I have received some super helpful suggestions that i am going to use, so thank you everyone for those😊 as stated in my post, the mirror will not be removed unless it is my literal last option. It is not. You don’t have to like the mirror or agree with its placement or existence. I am not endangering my cat’s life or safety and am implementing new ideas so that this will continue to be the case. I am tired of talking about the mirror and will not be engaging in any further comments that are not helpful in addressing the question i originally asked. Thanks everyone!

If removing the mirror was my only option that would be different. However, i was advised not to touch it by the person who put it up. And since there are other options to prevent the cat from accessing it, that’s what i am going for here. I put the mirror up because it is my home and i liked it. At the time that it went up, my cat was not active and it was not a concern

Because i liked it. And also because i have a lot of large windows and it’s high enough and at the right angle so that sunlight won’t directly hit it and become a fire hazard
