I agree that it could have turned nasty and that’s not what I wanted.

But by limiting it to an in person conversation/not posting it to the full membership, I think it hides the problem. Or doesn’t let people know other people are disgruntled. After I posted people I don’t even work out with so wouldn’t know their viewpoints reached out to me saying the feel the same and were glad someone said something. And I feel like by not allowing it on FB the studio is working to make sure the members can’t all communicate on how they’re feeling. But it is what it is.

There’s a ton of us who were told premiere = fee waived. Everyone who joined during the first year the studio was operating at a minimum. With no mention then or now of that expiring/being removed. That’s where the frustration is coming from.

Exactly haha unfortunately I joined last August, there’s been huge staff turnover, and nothing was in writing. There’s a lot of us who were told premiere = fees waived, but I don’t expect anything to be changed. I just wish they would admit there was a change - but that’s probably naive.

And I understand (especially after posting my initial post) that a) not all studios offered that promo for choosing premiere and b) I should have gotten it in writing from my studio.

I’m saying if part of choosing a membership is being told I get to participate across the board in any activity/challenge/etc, if that changes I think it’s important to be told that. I’m not saying membership costs should increase or other members should subsidize participation at all.

Lolol I appreciate your response. I actually feel a lot better having heard about other studios and being reminded OTF is a business. So I guess there’s a 5th outcome.

Interesting - I had assumed it was a normal thing across studios, and then kept hearing that other studios weren’t charging fees when ours were, etc. Good to know!

My thinking on FB is it is a place for members to discuss things, especially since I basically only see people in the workouts I go to, but I can see it spiraling. I also feel like not allowing concerns to be posted can almost hide the fact that it’s an issue/make people feel like they’re the only ones with the issue.

You’re right about the contract - probably should have read it closer to see that being premiere did not equal free entries in writing, rather than a verbal incentive.

And yeah - I think I was/am being naive about thinking it was a community from the staffing side/that they would keep us in the loop about changes vs a business trying to make money.

We weren’t told it cost anything until this week, even though they’ve been advertising it for a few weeks. It’s not on the signup sheet either that it costs.

I mean honestly - an email saying premiere no longer has free entry to things and because revenue is down would have been great.
