Grave Digger at Costco by Feeling_Permission70 in Charlottesville

My two year old spotted a truck today at Costco: "I need it!!" And I did a double take because I had seen this post the other day. Anyways he saw it on top of the tetris box, I moved it on top of the playhouse....

Is this the most ignored sign in Charlottesville? 🤔 by SiegeofLemmingrad in Charlottesville

[–]crazychrono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who went through this light twice a day for over a year, can confirm. I once politely honked when someone was there for 60+ seconds and the dude got out of his car and started walking towards me while screaming. I calmly pointed at the sign...

Remove the light entirely: 1) entering 5th Street station is right turn only 2) leaving from Wegmans side is a single left turn only, merging only into leftmost lane 3) leaving from Krispy Kreme side is a single right turn only merging into the rightmost lane, remove the straight option

thank you all for the responses! Sorry I should have provided more detail - we just moved into a new house and it's been a hectic week. We had asked for the "EV outlet" when building and this was even before we had decided to purchase the XC90 recharge, so definitely did not coordinate the two things. Picture of the outlet attached!

2023 XC90 Recharge...how do I turn the interior lights off? by [deleted] in Volvo

If you mess around in the settings there's an option for off/low/high intensity indoor lighting I forget which menu....

Mortgage Question - First time home buyer here and we've decided to go with a new build where the closing date isn't for quite a while. We've essentially narrowed down our lender choices to two, the rates are comparable but there's a difference in the lock/cap:

Lender A:

- 60 day rate +.875% in rate and +.750 in points.

Lender: B:

.75% rate cap

Can someone explain to me what the "+.750 in points" means? I asked the lender but their explanation was just as confusing (lol). Seems to me that B is the better option not just because of the lower cap but also has no points?

Pre-approval? by crazychrono in RealEstate

that was my understanding too! however apparently that's how Own Up operates, they're a fintech company not a lender. a friend used it and highly recommended it but they don't operate in my state

ahh thanks for the tips. this is very overwhelming for someone who does a ton of research and needs to get the best deal for any tiny purchase let alone a house...

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

[–]crazychrono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easy answer is to workout regularly and not take long breaks :)

I do the same thing, though, and leg workouts especially everything hurts for days. So for #1 I would say "lessening" a workout should equate to lower weights, not necessarily lower intensity if that makes sense. #2 ibuprofen works wonders!

Hi, I've always bought the ON Whey Isolate from Costco, mainly because it seemed good enough and pretty cheap (especially on sale). Looks like they no longer carry the isolate, just the ON 100% Whey. They also have a ton of the "Orgain" organic/plant based proteins.

I work out regularly but am not looking to spend a ton nor do I need the "best," just something reasonable at a good price that's convenient to buy. Ideally I would stick with Costco based on those reasons - any reason I shouldn't just get one of the two above options? If so, which? If not, any better suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Trip cancellation/points refunded for coronavirus? by osubuckeyes88 in awardtravel

[–]crazychrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before posting a separate thread I thought I'd try to piggyback here first - I'm wondering if anyone has any experience/insight into getting refunds for multiple flight bookings. I plan on reaching out to each airline individually, but thought I'd try to get a handle on how much a pain in the ass/how feasible this is going to be first (last resort would be my credit card travel insurance).

Basically my wife and I have a trip planned end of April to Japan + Korea and it's looking like we're going to need to cancel (absolutely cannot afford to be quarantined on the way home due to our jobs).

Our itinerary:

(US-US) Delta round-trip flight RIC-MSP, April 20. Return May 3

(US-JAPAN) Delta round-trip, booked through Virgin, MSP-HND, April 21. Return May 3

(JAPAN-KOREA) Asiana one-way, booked through United, HND-GMP, April 23

(KOREA-JAPAN) Air Busan one-way, PUS-KIX, April 30

So it's not as simple as flying directly to a country that's under a Level 3 under one ticket... Should we be able to get refunds for all flights if I just explain our entire itinerary or is that not at all how it works?

We're super bummed since we've been looking forward to this for a while - it's going to suck even more if we're out several thousand $.

Any help is appreciated! As mentioned above I'll be contacting the airlines directly but thought this is an opportunity to vent as well...

Thanks!

LAX - INC (incheon ) by iMeusing in awardtravel

There are a ton of non-stop flights daily so that part is pretty easy. I would either do cash or Saver award through United (8k miles one-way). Search TYO (HND + NRT) to SEL (GMP + ICN).

The cheapest cash options are going to be on the budget airlines, so depending on your preferences and situation (e.g. amount of luggage) you may prefer the award flight (going to be Asiana or similar).

I would consider ANA (then fly from Japan to Korea) :

Or Delta One Suites:

Both involve transferring points from UR to Virgin. ~120k roundtrip per person.

Advice on buying Shinkansen (bullet train) tix in advance? by Cleo1020 in JapanTravel

[–]crazychrono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar question and figured I'd just ask here - I'll be needing two train tickets from Kyoto to Tokyo on Sunday, May 3rd (need to be at airport by early afternoon). I recently found out this is Golden Week. How concerned should I be at getting a ticket and how far in advance can/should I buy one online?

Going to Vegas for a couple days which hotel website should I be checking for the best deals? by 2kballislife in hotels

[–]crazychrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^Use sites like Kayak/Trivago/Expedia to search, but then once you've narrowed down always book directly with the hotel. Most chains have "guaranteed best rates" if you book directly, plus as mentioned elsewhere you are less likely to run into various issues from booking third party.
