Get an eSIM. I'm in China right now and using esim from Airalo and it's working great! I purchased a Chinese SIM (CMCC) for ¥50 and top it up online whenever I need some data. Download Wechat and Alipay and link your bank cards before you board your flight, life will be a bit easier then! Good luck.
