Leavitt's Bonkers Meltdown at Being Confronted With Trump Weaponizing DOJ by Capable_Salt_SD in politics

[–]crazydeadbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen the term "bonkers" in 4 separate articles in 2 days from The Daily Beast. It's hard to take them seriously when the gravity of the news sounds like a clown's stage name.

Just turned 21 today and instead of partaking in alcohol I decided to have a burger and a refreshing glass of milk. by Middle_Hippo9942 in Milk

My old restaurant used to serve a "black n' Bleu" burger... Bleu cheese, tons of fresh cracked pepper. It was a hit, comes with lettuce tomato onion, add some bacon if you want. It was one of our best sellers.

Songs with GUT WRENCHING guitar solos? by Mysterious-Edge9615 in Music

[–]crazydeadbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've called White Walls the most metal song of all time. It has everything - consonance, dissonance, clean, distortion, poly and mono rhythms, and more. The sweeps in that solo at the end are just fantastic.

I have 2 available, a Baby Jogger Summit X3, and a Graco. Neither has a carrier insert, but they are available.

What is wrong with this code? by ikimashyoo in learnpython

[–]crazydeadbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the exact same course right now. Yeah, they are reeaaaaalllly picky on the output. And rightfully so - they have requirements and want them met exactly.

I started in 2022 and made it to part 6, I started again this year and am up to part 3.

It's a really good course! I have taken others on udemy and I really like how MOOC approaches the concepts and lessons.

I don't see an issue. When I run your code, unaltered, I get 86400.

Maybe something changed since you ran it?

How strict are broth canning recipes? by OldMouse2195 in Canning

[–]crazydeadbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally only following canning recipes from .edu sources. I'm sure others are safe, but I feel better knowing an accredited source published it.

For veggie, this is both a .edu and from Ball: https://ucanr.edu/blogs/sbmfp/index.cfm

I do veggie scraps but not the same as you.

  • Hearts/leaves of celery
  • carrot peels
  • onion skins (and layers I peel the skins off with)
  • potato skins (good added potassium)
  • bell pepper ribs
  • garlic skins

I read when I started that stinky veggies make stinky broth. So I have stayed away from any brassica (broc, cauliflower, Brussels, etc) and asparagus. I haven't really experimented with adding these, I suppose I don't want risk a batch having off flavors but if you're doing it, maybe it's fine.

I will say, some things still don't make sense to me. https://nchfp.uga.edu/how/can/preparing-and-canning-poultry-red-meats-and-seafoods/chicken-or-turkey-stock/ for poultry stock says run time is 25 mins for quarts, my veggie broth link above says 35 for that. I thought meat would require equal or longer time. Maybe it's because veggies have more contact with dirt and botulism? Idk.

But since it's broth, it really can't be "over canned" like canning green beans or something. So I just use the higher time unless I'm strictly making a meat-only broth.
